A."Adu kaL iRaichi karunchenjORAgiRa nindhyangaLAlEa iLan dheivathukku izhaithAdum nahinEnadhaiaiyum.." B. " pEAsa ninRa dhEvathA angnAna asakthi sAbEshathvAdhigaLaiyum.." Summary:A. The nature of worshipping smaller deities with lower practices like offering these with undesied things, liquour, meat etc. is strongly denounced by AzhwAr. The practice, practising methods and practising though these priests are discouraged. This is explained in the "thErpArai yAm ini" thiru voi mozhi 4-6; B. The deities like brahmA and shivA do not understand the misery which befall them but have to approach the Lord Almightty to get relief from their miseries. These highlight the fact that they are not capable to ward off their evils and are also subject to kArmic effects. This is elaborated in detail in the "onRum dhEAvum" thiru voi mozhi 4-10. pAsuram-s: A. In the thErpArai thiru voi mozhi (4-6) the practice of appeasing other deities is denounced. "angu Or Adum kaLLum"----> thiru voi mozhi 4-6-7---> Approaching deities with undesired things, liquour etc. is denounced. "angu Or kaLLum iRaichiyum---> thiru voi mozhi 4-6-3---> Appeasing these with liquor and meat is a thing which is to be abhorred. "karunjORum maRRai senjORum"---> thiru voi mozhi 4-6-4--> Offering food which are rAjasic and thAmasic nature to these is strictly to be avoided. "nEr aNangAdu iLandheivam"--> thiru voi mozhi 4-6-2-->Approaching these deities with sacrifices is.. "nEraNangAdudhal kEzhmaiyEa"---> thiru voi mozhi 4-6-8--> Approaching these deities is in itself is a lower nature is declared by swAmi nam-AzhwAr. Then How should one be. "vunnithu maRRoru dheivam thozhAL"--thiru voi mozhi 4-6-10--> The only one to be worshipped is the Lord Almighty. B. In the "onRum dhEavum" thiru voi mozhi (4-10) the Lord being the creator of one and all is emphasised. "The deities whom are approached by you are themselves created by The Lord Almighty. How can they solve your problems, when they approach the Lord to get their problems resolved?" "pEasa ninRa sivanukkum,biraman thanakkum,piRarkum nAyakan avanEA-kabAla mOkkathuk kaNdu koNmin"-->thiru voi mozhi 4-10-4---> When brahamA's head was plucked by shivA -bhramhA could not ward off this untoward incident. The plucked head stuck in shivA's hand and only Lord Almighty was able to remove it. This event is described to stress on the fact that these deities cannot ward off their problems and they also have to approach Lord Almighty. Thus, the futility of approaching these and the welfare of approaching the supreme is reiterated.
