Guest guest
Sri: SrimatE GOpaala dEsika mahaadEsikaaya nama: Dear Sri Sadagopan mama: adiyen and shadharmini returned from a short trip to India and had the bhagyam of visiting few divya desams. We also visited Thirukurungudi in Tirunelveli district. We visited the sannidhi of Sri Ramanujar where Perumal was a sishya to him. We were told this is the only kshetram where Perumal got upadesam from a Bhakthan. At other kshetrams, Perumal gives upadesam to Bhakthas. The priest who is taking care of the maintenance and daily Thiruaraadhanam to Udayavar is Sri D. Ramanujam. He requested us to arrange for saffron since good quality saffron is not available in India. On our return to Chennai, we sent some quantity of saffron (which we had taken from US - kept for giving to relatives) to him. More quantities may be needed and hence we are appealing to anyone going to India to take saffron and mail it to Sri D. Ramanujam, 20, Sannathi street, Thirukkurungudi- 627115, Tirunelveli district. Thirukurungudi is a beautiful and serene place on the border of present day TamilNadu and Kerala. The temple for Sri Ramanujar has been renovated in the past few years by the efforts of TVS organisation and is well maintained. Thirukurungudi temple is also huge and well kept. We were fortunate to go up the hillock and had sevai of Thirumalai Nambi. We had been to 'nava thirupathis' near Tirunelveli and everyone has to visit these kshetras at least once. ('nava thirupathis' is being promoted as tourist spot by the government of Tamil Nadu and you would do well to visit these kshetras before these become very popular for other reasons). Everywhere we went we heard the names of "TVS" and "Sri Venu Srinivasan of TVS" due to whose efforts these divys desams have been renovated and well kept with trikaala araadhanams going on without interrruption. adiyen Lakshmana dASan
