Guest guest
Sri Nikamantha Maha Desikaya Namaha Sri Adi Van Satakopa Yatheendra Maha Desikaya Namaha Sri Van Satakopa Sri Narayana Yatheendra Maha Desikaya Namaha Dear mama, How are you?? Its long time since adiyen has had correspondence with you. Adiyen has been roaming around like a nomad for the past few weeks. adiyen had been Srirangam on Amavasai to get the darshan of Sri Ranganathar and last week adiyen had been to Parikkal- near Villupuram. The presiding deity here is Lakshmi Nrushiman. Last week, as you know, was the Serthi utsavam at Ahobilam. Adiyen with Adiyen's parents and Sudharshan's parents had been to Ahobilam and came back yesterday morning. Adiyen has written an article on Adiyen's experience at Ahobilam. Please read it. Any mistakes, you are at your freewill to correct them and publish it in oppiliappan- and ramabhakthi. Adiyen is enclosing it in this mail Ahobilam Serthi Utsavam -Adiyen's Experience Usually serthi always refers to the famous serthi of Namperumal and Ranganayaki Thayar at Srirangam after Pranayakalakam on Panguni Uthiram. But this serthi is quite different. In this serthi, Malolan utsavar, the presiding deity at Ahobila Matam is in serthi with Malolan Moolavar. This is indeed a divine darshan. This event happened on 29th Feb 2004- The leap day. With Malolan’s abundant grace, adiyen was able to witness this divine darshan. Adiyen with my parents reached Ahobilam, Andhra Pradesh on 28th Feb morning. We were geared up to see Asmath Acharyan after a period of 15 days. Prahaladha Varadhan, deity at lower Ahobilam was also in Sri Sannithi. All of us got Theertham, Satari from HH Azhagiyasingar and departed to our rooms. Adiyen with my parents went to Karanja Nrushiman Sannithi. This Nrushiman has “Chakaram” in one hand and “Bow” in other hand. Chakram depicts Krishnavatharam and Bow depicts Ramavatharam. We reached upper Ahobilam, and there we worshipped Jwala Nrushiman-utsavar. He was in Hiranya samhara thirukolam. The beauty of this Moorthy is beyond explanation. Close to this is Ahobila Nrushiman Sannithi. Nrushima moorthy is in a cave. Before entering into the sanctum sanctorum, adiyen saw another sannithi, where there was Sivalingam. Adiyen was taken aback for a minute. Temple aradhakar explained the Thatparyam of siva lingam. A person was trying to make Siva Lingam- but how much ever times he tried, he only got Nrushima Moorthy. This is one of the reasons for placing Siva Lingam in the Sannithi next to Ahobila Nrushiman sannithi. We had engaged a person from Ahobila Matam to come along with us to go to Pavana Nrushiman sannithi. After worshipping all these sannithis we started to climb the hilly terrain. The steps were very steep and there were ups and downs. Thanks to those bhakavathas who provided “Neer More” and water to us. As we started climbing things became even more difficult, because it was almost noon, and on either side, the local fellows were burning the trees for their own reasons. It was only through Malolan’s grace we reached Pavana Nrushiman Sannithi. We walked down to upper Ahobilam and from there we took an auto to lower Ahobilam. 29th February 2004- The Serthi Utsavam Morning we quickly finished our daily routines and rushed to Sannithi to get Theertham satari. Prahaladha Varadhan was dressed up in a grand manner and came in “Moodu Pallaku” along with Sridevi and Boodevi to the sannithi. Things were really speeding up in Matam because, inclusive of Malolan, Azhagiyasingar, Kainkaryaparalas, everybody had to go to Malolan Sannithi. All of us rushed to upper Ahobilam. From there we went to Varaha Nrushiman Sannithi. In this sannithi Thayar is sitting in Nrushiman’s shoulder. Quickly we climbed up to Malolan sannithi. Adiyen had enough time to go to Jwala Nrushiman Sannithi, because Azhagiyasingar had to do his anushtanams. But Adiyen dint want to take any chance, because Adiyen had been waiting for serthi for quite sometime. All of us assembled in the sannithi. Till Azhagiyasingar finished his anushtanams, we all recited Sudharshana asthakam. Adiyen had the Bhakyam of singing few verses from Thiruvaimozhi, Thirumalai, and few songs composed on Nrushiman. When Azhagiyasingar came to the sannithi, after completing his anushtanams, the crowd intensified, and the sannithi was packed. Adiyen was asked to come front and render few songs, which Adiyen knows. Adiyen was just few yards away from the sannithi. It was indeed a divine darshan, which Adiyen would never forget in life. There were two Moolavars. During the Samprokshanam, second Malolan-Moolavar was placed in sanctum sanctorum. After viewing the serthi, Adiyen got theertham and walked out of the sannithi to see asmath Acharyan waiting outside the sannithi to place satari. Azhagiyasingar with vatsalyam asked adiyen “ Eppadi Irrundhadhu Serthi”…Adiyen was totally spell bound after Azhagiyasingar asked me. It shows his immeasurable grace towards this crazy creature that is a “Thurumbu” in front of Azhagiyasingar in terms of age, experience, knowledge and what not. After witnessing serthi, we all came down to upper Ahobilam where they had arranged for “Thathiaradhanai”. We had leisure of half an hour and we pushed back to view other three Nrushiman Sannithis at lower Ahobilam. First we went to Yogananda Nrushiman sannithi. Then we worshipped Chatravata Nrushiman Sannithi. Chatravata Nrushiman is Ananda Moorthy. With one had he is putting “Thala” for the song rendered by Gandharvas. Then we took a treacherous trip to Bhargava Nrushiman Sannithi. The peetam of Bhargava Nrushiman sannithi was beautified by the presence of Dasavatharam. Except for Jwala Nrushiman Moolavar and Ugra stambham Adiyen was able to worship all the 8 Nrushimans. Finally with the heavy heart, Adiyen with adiyen’s parents and other members departed to Chennai, to resume Loukika duties. Adiyen was indeed drenched in the karunyam and vatsalyam of Asmath Acharyan and Nava Nrushimans, especially Malolan, presiding deity of Ahobila Matam. Please pardon adiyen's mistakes.
