Guest guest
Sri: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, Thus AzhwAr described in all earlier verses that Sriman Narayanan is: Sarva antharyaami (indweller and inner commander) Sarva hithapravartthakan (who is the way or the means; who is known and to be known by the study of all vedas, saasthras and Upanishads) UbhayavibhUthinAthan (one who has this leelA vibhUthi and Nithya bibhUthi- or this world and the upper world- Paramapadham) One who takes various avatArams and takes different births for protection of dharma and destruction of evil; One who creates chathur mukha brahmA and entire Universe and all beings (through Brahmaa); One who supports everything and everyone else One who is above even Rudran One who is the cause even for NithyasUris and kaala tattvam Only One who is known, and to be known by the study of all Vedas and Upanishads; One who is the material and instrumental cause for the Universe. After having enlisted the above, AzhwAr asks: How will I be able to praise such Greatest You in this prabandham when even BrahmA and Rudran could not? sollinaaltho darchchin^ee solappadumpo ruLumn^ee, sollinaalso lappadaathu thOnRukinRa sOthin^ee, sollinaalpa daikkan^Ipa daikkavanthu thOnRinaar, sollinaalsu runkan^in_ku NankaL solla vallarE? (11) You are the combination of all words – i.e. all prabadhams. You are the essence or meaning of all of those verses. [You are the only one who is referred to by all names in the world]. You are Param jyOthI swarUpi..- shining lustrously due to Your swarUpa prakaSam and SwaprakAsam. You created BrahmA and he created the worlds and beings (with You as the in-dweller) utilizing the words of Vedas. Even such BrahmA is not able to comprehend Your greatness and praise You in entirety and do justice to your greatness, who can praise You listing down your most auspicious attributes (anantha kalyANa guNAs)! (not even at least summary of your guNAs) Sollinaal thodarcchi nee- You are the One who creates the connection between words and letters. It mat also mean: Unlike falling into the trap of Aishwarya (wealth) and kaivalyam (enjoying ones’ own soul- athmAnubhavam), when one understand true purport of Vedas and perceives You as VedavEdavEdhyan understating that You are the Supreme Brahman (from words- of Upanishads); You are the Supreme Light etc.. Everything has got names; yaavadharTham vai nAmaDhEyaSabdhaa: There are scholars who undesratnd those words and names. But all may not know that You are the antharyaami in them in everything and in everyone. Every word denotes a thing and ultimately denotes You. Sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly or implicitly. When they do not understand this and they do not tell that it denotes You, You are unuttered then (sollap padaathu thOnRuginRa jyOthi nee). You are not to be bound by these names or words; for example- BrahmANo na surAm pibEth; brahmANo yajEtha- Brahmins can not drink and Brahmins need to perform yagnam etc.. are not to refer to You directly and You are not bound by these statements [sollinaal solappadaathu]. Also it may mean: Even when someone attempts to utter using vedic hymns and praise You they can not complete or claim completion of praising You fully- never. You are Supreme Light; ParanjyOthi; Thus using such words and vedic statements if one utters (including BrahmA and Rudran), they still can not do justice to their praising You listing down all Your glories and guNAs.. as they (the guNAs and glories) are limitless and infinite.
