Guest guest
AchArya Hrdhayam SUthram 226-7 THE EIGHTH TEN The Nature of the Soul-adiyAr em kOkkaL-nalla kOtpAdEa "dhEhAdhigaLil parmAi, ninRu ninaikkil lakshmE thulyamAi, avarkEA kudigaLAm parathanthra swarUpathai, anusandhithavar" It was seen in the preceding posting the Lord Almighty had explained the true nature of AnmA-soul. It is further elucidated here, as seen by AzhwAr. a. The soul is different from the physiqe, body and related organs. b. It is full of knowledge. c. It is capable of being happy. --This is all seen in the thiru voi mozhi "kaNgaL sivandhu"8-8. d. The soul is likened to Lordess Lakshmi in the sense that, as pirAtti is always with the Lord only for the Lord and for none else, the soul is also so to the Lord Almigty. This aspect is elaborately and explicitly spelt out in the thiru voi mozhi 8-9 " karu mANikka malai mEal"--ananyArha shEshathvam. e. The soul is also subservient to the devotees of the Lord-adiyArku adiyAr.--This aspect is incisively dealt in the thiru voi mozhi 8-10 "nedu mARku adimai seivEan pOal'. -'dhadhEya shEshathvam'. thus AzhwAr logically digests the nature of the soul as enlightened by the Lord Almighty. pAsuram-s: The soul is different from that of the body; It is full of knowledge and happiness. "senRu senRu param paramAi" ---> ninRa onRai vuNarhEanukku--The soul is different from the body and is the prime mover of the body.Even if the body collapses the soul is eternal. Since, this has been shown by the Lord , AzhwAr has relaised this, lest this is not understood so easily-- onRum oruvarkku vuNaral AgAdhu. senRu senRu param paramAi - a sepathe body, the sensory organs on the body, the mind vis-a-vis the sensory organs, the soul vis-a-vis the mind. The soul is a distinct entity. Thiru voi mozhi 8-8-5.--Edu. The soul is to be dedicated only to Him and none else---ananyArha shEshathvam. 'karu mANikka malai mEal' 8-9; Like pirAtti the AthmA is always to be for Him and none else. "ninayum nERmaiyadhu anRi ivatkidhu ninRu ninaikkap pukkAl" 8-9-2- if really anlaysed and thought seriously, the soul is exclusively to be dedicated for Him. " arumAyan pEAr anRip pEachilal" 8-9-1 ---> AzhwAr does not speak but about the Lord. "maRRoAr upAyam en, ivaL anthan thuzhAi kamazhdhal' 8-9-10 ---> Do we need any other evidence that AzhwAr has dedicated herself to the Lord. She is smelling with thiruthuzhAi. dhadhEyas shEshathvam The devotion and subservience towards srEvaishNavites is also to be desired is the hallmark of the soul's nature which is detailed in the thriu-voi-mozhi 8-10-'nedumARku adimai" The soul is not just subservient to the Lord but also devoted towards His disciples. This basic good postulate is indispensable for the AthmA. This is the main focus of this thriu-voi-mozhi whcih has the final punch as "nEkkamillA adiyAr , tham adiyAr, adiyAr em kOkkaL, avarkkEa kudigaLAi sellum nalla kOtpAdEa"8-10-10 The devotees who are always with the Lord, whose devotees, whose disciples are my Lord, is the good grammar which is to be followed is the moral of the story. 'adiyAr em kOkkaL nalla-kOtpAdEa" (to be continued) vanamamalai padmanabhan
