Guest guest
Sri: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, [even small appearances of avthArams – one can not describe the greatness of Lord in as much as avathArams like Rama and Krishna where He appears for longer periods of time- AzhwAr mentions in this verse] thalaikkaNaththukaL kuzhampu saathi sOthi thORRAmaay, nilaikkaNankaL kaaNavanthu niRRiyElum neediruNG, kalaikkaNankaL soRporuL karuththinaal ninaikkoNaa, malaikkaNankaL pOluNarththum maatchi ninRan maatchiyE. (16) the Devas- good class; the trees; and the middle one (human beings and animals) – You appeared even among these different degrees of classes and even in those appearances, Your greatness can not be described in full gathering all sassthric collections, all words with their direct meanings and the elaborate detailed commentaries of the saasthrAs – saying “You are of this type or that- You are like the huge mountains and mountains of Greatness whose grandness can be quanitified or measured. In Deva gaNaas, in trees like asvattham (alasamaram), among human as Rama, Krishna and in animals like Boar, Mathsya Koormam et al- You appear. Even in such lowliest form of creations, You appear and still Your greatness can not be comprehended. If all over the world, all saasthrAs gather collecting all greatest of words and sentences, they still can not attempt to find end in praising Your glories. They can at best show us the huge mountains of Your kalyANa GunAs; but never do justice to their narration. Hence none can perceive Your Greatness in full! Even in SrI Rama avathAram- You said hiding your Lordship, “athmAnAm mAnusham manyE rAmam dasarathAthmajam”. Even in such a state, the ignorant illiterate trees, waters, also lamented without Your presence in ayOddhi. They were charming and enjoyed when You were around. Even they could enjoy You- such was Your solwseelya guNA; that was Your greatness. Can one describe Your such greatest kalyANa guNAs! [Never] Deva gaNAs- are supposed to be grand gaNAs- vasu, rudra, Adhithya, maruth, saadhya, siddha, gandharva, kinkara, et al. thugaL- smallest minutest ones- like flies, plants, trees etc.. kuzhmbu jaathi- manusha (human beings)- perhaps due to the mixture of puNya paapams- (kuzhambu) thugaL- papa jaathi; thalai kaNam- Deva jaathi and hence human beings mixture (kuzhambu jaathi) Or only human beings get confused easier and quickly (hence kuzhambu jaathi) This is mine and I am independent; OR I am servant and devotee of this demi God; or That demi god – confusion; OR self is Anandham – I will enjoy my self and that is Bliss- Confusion. Such confusions are not there for trees, animals and Devaas. [even cows know that this is my food and this is not correct – they are clear while humans are not] Everywhere confusion: dhEhaathma bhramam- Confusion that body is AthmA; swathanthra bhramam- Self is ultimate and Enjoying self [kaivalyam] is Bliss is another confusion; dEvathAnthara bhramam- even when one realizes that he is a sEshan [servant- daasan] to the God- confusion as to who that God is: so kuzhambu jaathi - says AzhwAr. [everytime when we eat kuzhambu- think of this; and also think of the unparalleled Peerless Sriman Narayanan and that we are His eternal daasabhUthars.
