Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha Sri Vara Vara munayE Namaha Sri vAnAchala mahA munayE Namaha There are three tattvas, chit, achit and Ishvaran according to our ramanuja sampradayam. Achit is classified into 24 tattvas, the 25th tattvam is the jeevatma tattvam (chit) that is conveyed by the makAram in the Omkaram and the 26th tattvam is the Ishvara tattvam. Both in the geethA sAstram and nedunthAndaka sAstram emperuman Sri Parthasarathi and thirumangai azhvar have tried only to make us realise the above 26 tattvas and finally reach the divine abode of emperuman by doing sharanAgathi unto his divine feet. Our ultimate goal is to realize the 26th tattva emperuman and hence this series of posting will also come to an end with the 26th posting that will give the crux of the whole geethA sAstram and nedunthAndaka sAstram. The last shatkam in geethAsastram is divided into two by our acharyas, poorvatrikam and the uttara trikam. The poorva trikam includes the 13, 14 and 15th chapters that give the tattvatraya jnAnam. This part is otherwise called the siddatrikam, this has been equated to “vuyar vara vuyar nalam” padhigam of Swamy Nammazhvar. The next part, the uttara trikam includes the 16th, 17th and 18th chapters otherwise called the sAdhyatrikam that tells us about the karma, jnana, bhakthi, prapaththi yoga anushtanams that has been equated to “veedu min muttravum” padhigam of Swamy Nammazhvar. Sri Azhagiya manavalap perumal nAyanar in his excellent sutra prabhandam acharya hrudhayam says, “rahasyaththukku Orezhuththum adhukku Oruruvum pOlE Ana vattrilE, emaiyOradhipathi adiyEn mananE poimayarvu pirandharulinan vinnappam tozhuthezendra panjagaththOdE,avidhyAdhi svaroopa svabhAva AthmEshvara bhandha rakshana guna vigraha vibhoothi yoga dhadheeyAbhimAna upadEsa vishaya anyApadEsa hEthu Adhi galum sangruheetham” (212) In the above sutra Sri Azhagiya manavala perumal nAyanar shows how the first paasuram in thiruviruththam and the first paasuram in thiruvaimozhi conveys the essence of all the paasurams in both the prabhandams. Like the first letter akAram in the pranavam conveys the crux of the OmkAram the first paasuram in these prabhandams convey the essence of the whole prabhandam. Will not thirumangai azhvar who has taken avatara to provide the six angas to mAran kalai (mAran paniththa thamizh maraikku Arangam koora avadhariththa) follow the procedure showed by azhvar? Yes he does the same and thereby the first paasuram in his divine prabhandam thirunedunthAndakam summarizes the whole essence of the prabhandam. The other 29 paasurams are only a detailed explanation of what kaliyan has conveyed in the very first paasuram. So this series of posting intended to show the similarity in the words of kaliyan and geethAcharyan ends with this posting. The divine arthas conveyed by geethAcharyan in the 18 chapters have been clearly conveyed by our dear kaliyan in just a single paasuram that has been enjoyed by us within our limited knowledge in this series of posting. At the very start of this series we saw about the great nirvAham of Swamy Parasara bhattar that categorised the meanings conveyed by the 3 sections of paasurams in this divine prabhandam. Adiyen leaves it to the readers to dive deep into this ocean of divine learning and know more about this prabhandam. It is for sure that even if we succeed in understanding the thiruvullam of the geethAcharyan it is never that easy to understand the thiruvullam of our azhvars. But thank god that he has blessed us with the acharyas who act as a guiding torch. So let us end this posting by doing mangalAsAsanams to them with Swamy mAmunikal’s words, “AzhvArgal vAzhi arulicheyal vAzhi thAzhvAdumil kuravar thAm vAzhi-A-zhpArum vuyya avargal vuraiththavaikal thAm vAzhi seyya marai thannudanE sErindhu” “adiyArgal vAzha aranganagar vAzha satakOpan than tamizh nool vAzha kadal soozhindha mannulagam vAzha manavAla mAmuniyE ennum oru nootrAndirum” “BrindAranya nivAsAya balarAmAnu jAyacha rukmini prAnanAdhAya pArtha soodhAya mangalam” “Sri madAli Sri nagari nAdhAya kalivairinE chatushkavi pradhAnAya parakAlAya mangalam” Azhvar EmperumAnAr Jeeyer thiruvadigalE sharanam Jeeyer thiruvadigalE sharaNam Adiyen ramanuja dAsee Sumithra Varadarajan
