(52) People from all eight directions come and take bath in sacred Cauveri in the bank of Srirangam and here AzhwAr enjoys Lord who is the object of enjoyment of the ParamikAnthins like akroorar- who are even grander than the likes of BrahmA as they are greatest Bhagawathas like Nithyasuris. Fighting against the strong mountain like huge Kuvalayaapetal elephant that was at the Kamsa’s palace to kill KaNNan; and He held on to its trunk and swirled the same; went underneath its four legs and played and finally broke its tusker and killed the angered elephant effortlessly – such most victorious and most valorous one resides in Srirangam Divya Desam – surrounded by cool waters of Cauvery river- where Parama BhAgavathOtthamAs who have no attachment to worldly objects [ParamaikAnthin] and also those ascetics holding thirdhaNdam (three bamboos tied together) live in. The elephant is like a huge mountain. In spite of that, He- the small boy played effortlessly with the huge elephant and killed the same. AzhwAr enjoys Him as bAlan- or Go pAlan.. The greatness of waters [Cauveri river] and taking bath in them the bhAgawathas – have got their sacredness (for both river and the Bhaagawathas) from their sambandham with Bhagawaan (the Lord) who Himself is theerthan (the pristine purity- personified]. Such greatest One- has stooped low with His sowlabhyam and appeared as Cowherd Boy and still declared His Supremacy to Devendran, BrahmA, Rudran and others… and stood as the darling Boy of Gopas and Gopis. Such Greatest KaNNapiraan is this Rangan who is easily accessible by all of us – His sowlabhyam is thus even grander than KaNNan. AzhwAr mentions that the thridhaNdars (sanyaasis) and affirms the sanyaasi dharmam here in accordance with saasthrAs. Such great Sanyaasis live in the bank of Cauveri. aRRa paRRar- They have no attachment or desires; jnAna vairAgya anushtAna sEvadhis… But they stay in the divya Desam for mere enjoyment of His dhivya mangaLa vigraham and be with other BhagawathOtthamas- enjoys Sri UttamUr Swamy.
