I am enclosing an appeal from SrIman Vijayan

regarding a request from SrI Mudali ANDAn ThirumAligai

from SingaperumAL KOil .

 

The Moola Purushar of this AchArya Vamsam is

Swamy Dasarathy , who came to be known later

as Swamy Mudali ANDAn.

 

Swamy Mudali ANDAn's Kaimakryam as the BaaginEyar

(with dEha sambhandham of AchArya RaamAnujA) and

direct disciple of AchArya RaamAnujA is well recorded in

Guru Paramparai recordings.

 

Swamy Mudalai Andan was recognized by AchArya

RaamAnujA as as His ThridhaNdam and PaadhukA

for his Kaimkaryams to his AchAryan and SrI VaishNavam.

 

>From being the Foremost ( ANDAn ) among Mudalis ( Temple

Functionaries) at SrIrangam Temple at the request of his AchAryan

to being "SthrI Dhana VeLLAtti for Athtuzhai( the daughter of

Periya Nampi , one of the 5 AchAryAs of Bhagavath RaamAnujA) ,

Swamy Mudali ANDAn has performed capably at whatever task

His AchAryan Commanded him to do .One such kaimkaryam at

the niyamanam of AchArya RaamAnujA was the Pancha NaarAyaNa

Prathishtai at KarnAtaka during his AchAryan's exile in Melkote .

At the karnataka village of SaaLagrAmam , the power of the SrI Padha

Theertham of Swamy Mudali ANDAn was demonstrated for

the people of the above grAmam by AchArya RaamAnuja .

 

Swamy Mudali ANDAn's son was KanthADai ANDAn , Lord

RanganAthA's gift to His chief of administration , Swamy Mudali

ANDAn . His son was KanthAdai ThOzhappar , whom Lord

VaradarAjan considered as His Thozhan ( dear Friend ) and

presented Thozhappar with one of the six Sannidhi bhErams

of Himself ( Azhaitthu VaazhvitthAr Moortham ) , which stays

until today as the AarAdhana Moorthy at Sri Mudali Andan

ThirumALikai at Singa PerumAL koil .Here , the Swamy

Mudali ANDAn serves PrahlAdhAdhri ( PaatalAdhri)

Narasimhan and blesses his sishya paramparai .

Srivaishnavas help in restoring the Avatara Stala of Swami

MudaliAndan back to the Thirumaligai. Any help from anyone will be

Please accept my humble namaskarams. My name is Vijayan Ramasamy,

currently based out of USA and I belong to the Thirumaligai of Swami

MudaliAndan. I am told that you also belong to the same Thirumaligai.

You may be aware that our Vartamana Swami is actively involved in many

Thirumaligai Kainkaryams and is instrumental for making many changes

and is shaping more changes. One of the problems we are facing is

that all Shishyas are not able to join hands in support of our

Thirumaligai and also participate in many activities. I have had the

"bhagyam" of talking to Swami a few times. There are two reasons for

my sending this email to you:

1. In the past we have been trying to collect the details of Shishyas

who may be dispersed across the world. I am told that you may have

family members spread across many countries. If you do not mind and

if you think your family members will not mind, I will greatly

appreciate if you will kindly send me the contact info to them

(including email addresses) and a small introduction to them;

2. An urgent need of the Thirumaligai is that our Swami is actively

trying to re-acquire the Avatara Stalam of our first MudaliAndan in

Pettai, near the outskirts of Chennai. It is imperative that we do

not let this opportunity slip away and it is also a great opportunity

for all of us to participate in this kainkaryam. It is unfortunate

that our own Swami has to openly ask our help in this regard. Any

help that you can provide directly or in the form of directing me to

others from whom I can seek help will be greatly appreciated and I am

sure Swami's blessings will help us and guide us in this act.
