Guest guest
Sri Mattapallinatham Pranathosmi Nithyam Namaha Dear Bhagavathas – The 60th Tirunakshatra Mahotsavam of Salakshana Ganapaati Sri.U.Ve.Mukkur Lakshmi Narasimhachariyar Swamy commenced on 5.6.2004. Sri Swamy's Tirunakshatram actually falls on 3.7.2004 (Aani pooradam). The Mahotsavam began on Vaikaasi Pooradam at Mukkur, the birthplace of Sri Swamy, with a vadamaalai offering to Sri Aanjaneya Swamy's temple there. The celebrations continued in Chennai last weekend (11.6.2004 to 13.6.2004) at Asthika Samajam, Venus Colony where numerous Yagnams and Upanyasams have been conducted by Sri Swamy. His Holiness Srimad Azhagiya Singar, inaugurated the celebrations on 11th June, with his Anugraha Bhaashanam on his favourite Sishya Rathnam. This was followed by a book release function where SriU.Ve.A.M.Rajagopalan of Kumudham Joditham, along with SriU.Ve.P.K.Lakshmi Narasimhachariyar (Editor Sri Nrisimha Priya) and SriU.Ve.Anantha Padhmanabha Chariyar (Sub-Editor Sri Nrisimha Priya) released the book entitled `Veda Raman – Aaranya Kaandathil Artha Visheshangal'. This book is a transcription of Sri Mukkur Swamy's upanyasams in Sri Paarthsaarathy Swamy Sabha, Triplicane, especially on the 14 special traits than Sri Rama displayed in the Aaranya Kaandam. SriKrishnaswamy of Asthika Samajam concluded the day's proceedings with recollections of his experiences with Sri Mukkur Swamy. The Chennai celebrations gained momentum on the second day which began with Karnatic vocal music performance by M.S.Jayashree. Following this, the 6th volume of Sri Mukkur Swamy's renowned `Kuraiondrumillai' series of books was released by Kavignar Vaalee. Sri K.Rajendran (Kalki) received the first copy. This was followed by reminiscences by Kavignar Vaalee, Sri Sugi. Sivam and Sri Naagai Mukundan. The day concluded with a Veena concert by one of Sri Swamy's young devotees, Kum. Sri Vidhya Sundar. The third day of the Chennai celebrations turned out to be a fitting finale. Just before the commencement of the third day's program, Vaayu and Varuna bhagavaans in tandem showered their blessings via a downpour accompanied by cold breeze. Sri B.Sundarkumar began the day's proceedings with his recollections of experiences with Sri Swamy. This was followed by another nectarine shower - a vocal music performance of Sri Swamy's songs by Vanamaalika group. This was followed by another book release function. The English translation of Sri Mukkur Swamy's "Mattapalliyil Malarnda Maraiporul", entitled "kO dAtA?' – `Who is the giver?', was released by Sri U.Ve.Pazhaveri Sadagopa Chariyar who was Sri Swamy's teacher during his paatashala days. Sri U.Ve.S.V.S.Raghavan, Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy and Smt. Girija Seshadri received the first copies of the book. Sri U.Ve.Velukkudi Krishanan delivered an eloquent speech on the Aacharya Lakshanams and how all of them rightly indwelling inside Sri Mukkur Swamy, recollecting specific experiences for each of the lakshanams. Sri Thirunaavukkarasu of Vaanathi Pathippagam also reminisced on his experiences with Sri Swamy. The Mahothsavam continues at Sri Swamy's `sva kshetram' Sri Mattapally from 25.6.2004 to 03.7.2004 (Aani Pooradam). During the week long celebrations, it is proposed to have Veda Paarayanam by learned scholars in all the Vedas, Divya Prabandham, daily thrikala pujas to Sri Swamy's deities as well as Sri Mattapallynathan, Dolotsavams, upanyasams in Tamil and Telegu, rendering of devotional songs, devotional cultural events and thadeeyaradhanams to devotees. All are invited to take part in this `once in a lifetime' Mahotsavam and receive the blessings of Sri Swamy and Sri Mattapally divya dampathis. Guest guest
Dear Swamin: Thanks for the many who were interested in procuring a copy of Sri Mukkur Swamy's books that were recently released during His 60th Thirunakshatiram. Adiyaen just got back from India after attending the month long celebration that was held at Mukkur, Madras and Mattapally. Sorry for not being able to respond to your mail earlier. I have replied to each of you individually. The following books/ VCDs are available with me for distribution within the US. As you can see, there are only limited number of copies available with me (one of the bhagavatAs had an urgent request for multiple copies and had to comply) and would appreciate if you could secure yours asap on a "first come first served" basis. Please revert back to me on the titles/VCDs that you would like to receive. The rates are specified in Indian rupees (INR) and US $ (@ 1US$ = INR 45). In addition, you would have to bear the shipping charges within the US. I would post them by the most economical mode. Once I receive a note from you, I would set aside your copies and send you a mail to that effect. Appreciate if you could then (and only then) send me a check to me.
