Guest guest
Namo Narayana, I had the good fortune of visiting Badrinath in May. There is a place, very close to the Badrinath temple called rAmAnuj kOt. This hosts a beautiful archa murthi of sri Ramanujar along with other perumals and Saligramams. I have read a lot of Srivaishnava travelogues and have not found a detailed mention of this in many of them hence this mail. It is a must visit for any Srivaishnava. As one goes towards the Badrinath temple. It is to the left, on crossing the bridge. It is among a cluster of houses off the road. It is not an obvious place to locate. No sign-boards are available. We had to ask around 10 locals before we could get to that place. Once you get there the priest will guide you to other Srivaishnava Ashrams/ksehtrams which are present around 100-300 mts from the temple (if you ask him). This is a beautiful Sannidhi , peaceful and quite. we were the only ones there and there was some sort of familiarity and comfort in that place it seemed like home. So much so, that my 8 year old son said we could come back there and spend some time sitting there. We came back to the place 3 times during out short stay of 2 nights and a day in Badrinath. I request all who plan to visit Badrinath to ask and reach this wonderful place. A visit to this Ashtakshari Kshetram is incomplete if one does not take the blessings of our great Acharya Ramanuja there. Thanks and regards ramanuja dasi New and Improved Mail - Send 10MB messages!
