Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, AzhwAr here sings about the meditation on both forms of PiraaTTi and of Lord Sriman Narayanan. maNNaiyuNdu mizhnthupinni ranthukoNda Lanthu,maN kaNNuLalla thillaiyenRu venRakaala maayinaay, paNNaivenRa vinsolmankai konkaithanku pankayak kaNNa,ninna vaNNamalla thillaiyeNNum vaNNamE. (105) Oh Lord! The One who retained the Universe in Your stomach [during Dissolution- mahApraLayam]; who brought out the Universe afterwards [during evolution] who measured the Universe with his Feet [when He begged for three measures of earth with His little Feet appearing as Dwarf Brahmin- Vaamana avathAram]; This world is never under loss of my control or under my overseeing- Thus You have been controlling this As the Director at every time, every situation and all circumstances! Red lotus eyed most beautiful Lord who is ever associated with soft spoken Sri – residing in her tender breasts! The divine Form that adiyEn contemplates is Your most beautiful form [along with PiraaTTi] only and none else’s. The first line means: the Time- when You swallowed the Universe; the Time You spat it out; The Time You measured The same; Thus You are the Master of Time also; Kaala naathan. The swallowing and spitting are used by the AzhwAr to explain the philosophic concept of Dissolution and Evolution of the Universe. These dieas are not borrowed. The KathOpanishad speaks of the entire Universe comprising sentient beings and non-sentient entities as food for Brahman (yasya brahma cha kshathram ca ubhE bhavata odnah). Based on this Upanishad Statement, Vedantha Sutras describes the Brahman as attA or eater (attA charAchara grahanaath). Thus swallowing ad eating are the cosmic functions of The Lord who is the supporter, director and controller of Brahman. Your Beauty- even when there is no enemy You shine valorously; and even when there is enemy You exhibit calm and composure in Your divine Face- That is the divine form with Your Divine Consort- I am blessed to have in my dhyAnam- says AzhwAr.
