Guest guest
Dear Shir Rajagopalan swami, kaNDA karnan was a devotee of the Lord who offered corpses to the Almighty. While offering so he used to discern good corpses from bad in the sense that he used to offer corpses of souls who were well versed in vEdhAs, educated, good cultured and so on. It is customary to offer the Lord what we usually eat and then take for us. He was doing the same. He was having bell in his ears to avoid listening to the name of sreman nArAyaNA _That is why the name gAnTA karnan.. He was a shiva bhakthA at that time. Finally when he wanted salvation, shivA indicated that only Lord krshNA can grant this. From that day onwards he became a great devotee of sri krshNA. He felled brahmin rishis to offer the feast to the Lord krishNA, who blessed him ultimately. Anyhow I am writing this just from my memory. Perhpas, more knowledged people in the group can write to you in detail. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan - N.S.
