Guest guest
Dear srEvaishNavites, It may thus be observed that AzhwAr's thoughts run similar as regards thinking of Him and regards being unable to forget Him. I conclude with one final quote from thirumangai mannan's periya thiru-mozhi 7-1-1 "kaRavA mada-nagu than kaNRu vuLLinAR pOle, maRavAdhu adiyEan vunnaiyEa azhaikkinREAn' "This samsAram is bereft with aspects which are attractive and prone to distance and distract away from the Lord Almighty. However, being in this, I am remembering You without forgetting " is thiru-mangai AzhwAr's appeal to the Lord in this thiru-naRaiyUrp pAsuram. Guest guest
Sri: srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear Sri Padmanabhan Swamin, adiyEn was reminded of a story about this pasuram when I saw it. Amudhanar tried to interpret the line "karavA mada nAgu than kanRu uLLinAr pOl" as "karavA mada nAgu, than kanRinai uLLinAr pOl" - that is, like a cow which has not been milked yet thinking of its calf. However, this did not go with the next line where Azhvar refers to him (the calf) calling out to the Lord (the cow). When Parasara Bhattar was presented with this pasuram, he explained it as follows: "karavA mada nAgu than kanRu, (than thAyai) uLLinAR pOl". That is, the calf (Azhvar) of the cow which has not been milked yet, thinking of its mother (the Lord). adiyEn maadhurakavi dAsan --- Padmanabhan <aazhwar wrote: > Dear srEvaishNavites, > > It may thus be observed that AzhwAr's thoughts run > similar as regards thinking of Him and regards being > unable to forget Him. > > I conclude with one final quote from thirumangai > mannan's periya thiru-mozhi 7-1-1 > > "kaRavA mada-nagu than kaNRu vuLLinAR pOle, > maRavAdhu adiyEan vunnaiyEa azhaikkinREAn' > > > "This samsAram is bereft with aspects which are > attractive and prone to distance and distract away from > the Lord Almighty.
