Guest guest
SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesika namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, naNNum vaNNam eNNu- The way He needs to be contemplated- Think on the same way (not in any other manner). Think of Him always; thereby You can attain Him soonest. Inamaaya vettun^eekki yEthaminRi meedhupOy, vaanamaaLa vallaiyElva Nankivaazhththen nenchamE, NYaanamaaki NYaayiRaaki NYaalamuRRu mOreyiRRu, Enamaayi danthamoorththi yenthaipaadha meNNiyE. (114) my mind! The lowliest eight are removed; without any suffering, reaching beyond the Cosmic Matter (prakruthi) and attaining Paramapadham and be there for ever joyfully as Swaraat; - if you are interested in that and would like to be qualified for the same; develop the jnAnam of performing bhakti yoga or Saraganati (Prapatti) and prostrate, praise, bow down and think of the divine Lotus Feet of My Father, My Lord, Parampurushan Sriman Narayanan who appeared as huge Boar that took the Mother Earth [on His single horn] out of troubled waters; who is the indweller of Surya (Sun). If ever you wish to be qualified and be capable for ruling the Paramapadham, praise Him as Swayam prayOjanam; It is all not in our hands; It is His pleasure that grants us the sane, Nothing is due to our effort. We just need to pray to Him; surrender to Him; My Father’s divine Lotus feet alone is the means to get there- can also be interpreted. To be there, think of His divine Lotus feet and meditate on the same. If you do not do that (surrender), then it is not possible to attain the upper world (Paramapadham)- is also implied here. This is similar to ThiruvaLLuvar’s: piRavi perunkadal neendhuvar neendhaar iRaivan aDi sErAdhAr. [Those who surrender] Will cross the ocean of births ; Will not cross Those who do not surrender to the Lotus feet of the Lord. The lowliest eight- (eenamaaya ettu)- avdiyA, karma, vaasana, ruchi, prakruthi sambandham, AdhyAthmika, Adhiboudhika, Adhidhaivika thaapas.. OR kaama krOdha, lOba, mOha, madha, maathsarya, anjnAna, assoyai OR sthoola sareera [Gross body]- Pancha bhUthas, puNya, paapam, and wealth OR sookshuma sareera [subtle body]- Pancha bhUthas, bAhyEndriyas, mind, prANan With no suffering- with no efforts- crossing the virajA nadhI; [river virajA which is the barrier between this world and upper world] How can the mind be there and reach Paramapadham – the query.. If I (your friend) need to be there, my friend oh mind! -You need to be qualified and be capable of taking this effort of thinking of the Lord - can also be the interpretation. sooryadwArENa thE virajA: prauaanthi- The jeevan passes thorugh the Soorya mandalam in his path towards Paramapadham and hence Sun is referred to here by AzhwAr. With the jnAnam of bhakti and prapatti performance – which dispels the inner darkness or ignorance; the external darkness is dispelled by the Sun; Here jnAnapiraan- Adhi varahaa mUrthy is mentioned as He took the whole universe on His horn thus declaring everyone can be elevated by Me [if only they think of me and surrender to Me once- sthithE manasi….. aham smaraami mad bhaktham nayaami paramaam gathim- I would take them by myself to My abode]. mUrthy- the six qualities of ParavaasudEva mUrthy- jnAna, bhala, aishwaryam, veerya, shakthi, thEjas. [interestingly, Vaaraha is also referred to by NammAzhwAr just six verses before completion of Thiruvaymozhi – similar to Thirumazhisai AzhwAr’s- Thirucchandha viruttham also is of 120 verses. We are at 114th verse]. Thirumazhisai Piraan ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam Regards Namo narayana dAsan
