Dearest Srivaishnavas,

AzhwAr says: The greatest Sages praised You quoting

Four Vedas, while this lowliest unqualified one

(adiyEn) too praised You- Please forgive

me…

Oh Most wonderful Lord! The One who wears bee humming

most fragrant cool thuLasi garland! Oh Reclining Lord!

The One who reclines on the dark blue ocean as the

bed! One who is in the minds of devotees! About

You- The One who is praised and worshipped by even

NityaSUris and greatest sages- this lowliest self

(naayinEn)- sometimes in good mind and sometimes not

(in pure mind)- has sung these verses, realizing the

eternal servitude of this self on You, in praise of

You, bowing down to You. Please consider them in Your

mind and accept them and do not discard them as

faltering in kaimkaryam. Please bless these verses

(and me).

In order to be in the heart of devotees, You start

from Paramapadham and stop over at Milky ocean and

then reside in the heart of devotees, Oh blue hued

ocean coloured Lord! Seeing Your sowlabhyam and

sowseelyam (easy accessibility and simply stooping

down so low to mix with us), and enjoying Your most

fragrant bee humming ThuLasi garland on Your divine

Chest (thereby declaring the Parathvam and Parama

bhOgayathvam), I have lost my intellect to

discriminate which is right and which is wrong, and if

it is appropriate for me to venture into this, simply

flabbergasted by Your Beauty, kalyANa guNas and

sowlabhyam, adiyEn has started praising You

immediately.

Sometimes, my body and mind could have been pure

(sattva guNam); and sometimes not so; [The most

important purificatory rite: Saathvika thyAgam- that I

do not do this; For His pleasure, He Himself is

getting it done through me as an instrument] Thus,

sometime, this vaachika kaimkaryam [singing in praise

of You] could have been upachAram; sometimes apachAram

[offences]. Thus there could be faltering in adiyEn's

kaimkaryam. Please forgive me for the mistakes,

falters and accept the same as upachAram also.

Under the intention of doing the various upachAras

(worship procedures) during Your worship everyday, I

have committed numerous apachAras (offences and faults

of omissions and commissions) to You. Oh

Purushottama! please tolerate all of these and bear

with me and cinsider as upAchArams [kaimkaryam in the

form of worshipping and and in the spirit of service]

[translation extracted from the post of Dr MN Ramanuja

few years ago] [srivaishnavas recite this sloka at the

end of ThiruvArAdhanam everyday in order to seek

Lord's foegiveness during the apacharam committed

while performing ArAdhanam].
