DEEMED NONBU

 

Sri AndAL deems nOnbu and confers the privilege of having completed

this to a devotee without the devotee having to undergo the oredeal

of this.

 

This is in thiruppAvai 10:

"nORRuch chuvarkkam puguginRA ammanAi!"

 

This particular srEvaishNavic is still inside the room,when sri AndAL

and the devotees approach her to seek her company.

 

When she was lying inside how is it that AndAL can state that "nORRuch suvarkkam puguginRA ammanAi!"

 

When all others were eagerly waiting to approach the Lord, this maiden

was already enjoying Lord krishNA. That means the whole purpose of

nOnbu being to cherish the Lord is already reached and hence, she is

deemed to have already completed the nONbu and hence, "noRRuch

suvarkkam puguginRa ammanAi!"

 

Well, she has totally comprehended and underlined the importance of

the Lord being the means and lying with conviction that it is His

prerogative and look out to seek her rather than the other way.

Hence, she was lying with aplomb and composure.

 

ARAyiRappadi vyAkyAnam aptly conveys this point incisively:

" avanudaiya rakshagathvathai vuNarndhAl thankku yathnam paNNa

prApthiyillai; than shEshathvathai vuNarndhAlum prApthiyillai;virOdhi

prAbalyathai vuNarndhAlum onnum seiyyap

prApthiyillai;idharOpayangaLukkum avan prasAdham

vENdiyirukkaiyAlEa,onRum seiyyap prApthiyillai; Ana pinbu

"nArAyaNanEA" .....enRirukkiRAL"

 

If we consider His nature and saving Grace and competence, no need

arises for our own efforts; If we consider that we are subservient to

Him, then this need does not emerge;If the magnitude of the hurdles is

reckoned, we cannot do anything; If we follow other means, then His

blessing and grace is indispensable.

Therefore, she is composed by thinking of the divine "nArAyaNan".
