GRAND RECEPTION FOR

ARRIVAL DEVOTEE OF THE LORD

AT THE ALTARS OF

PARAMA-PADHAM

 

When priest who conduct the marriages forget some "manthram-s" what

do they do? They request for 'getti mELam'.

 

This whole episode in narrated in thiru-voi-mozhi 10-9 "sUzh visumbu aNi mugil".

Likewise, Lord who did not want to make big of His non-response,

immediately brought in front of AzhwAr the vision of big band and

paraphernalia, divine sounds from various instruments inviting him to

enter the great parama-padham.

 

The waves from the ocean jumped in joy. The bugles raised their

typical sounds. The devotees there offered their seats -emadhidag

pugudhum - and place. The divine women spoke good of the souls

-madandhar vAzhthal.

"sUzh visumbu-aNi mugil, thUriyam muzhakkina, Azh kadal alai thirai, kai eduthu Adina,

yEAzh pozhilum, vaLam yEandhia ennappan, vAzh pugazh nArANan thamaraik

kaNdugandhEa" 10-9-1;

 

The royal and divine instruments were doing their duty. vAdhya

ghOshangaL, mangaLa bhErigaigaL. Songs were sung in celebratin of the

occasion. The divine din from the 'valam-puri sanku' originated. The

divine souls there, appreciated by reciting 'sthothram-s'. The

reception was grand-gala and the arrival of AzhwAr was a great event.

"gEthangaL pAdinar kinnarar garudargaL, kALangaL valam-puri kalandhu

engum isaithanar, vALoN kaN madandhaiyar vAzhthinar" 10-9-5;

 

The divine escorts-AdhivAhagargaL, the path of archirAdhi, the

affectionate reception into the parama-padham by the souls there, the

enjoyable structures there and finally attaining the lotus feet of

sriman nArAyaNa were all the priceless and unequal visions which were

bequeathed by the Lord on AzhwAr.

 

The highlight of the celbration was for the arrival of the devotee of sriman nArAyaNA.
