nambi is nam-AzhwAr: It is well known that sri vadivazhagia nambi is

swAmi nam-AzhwAr. Like emperumAnar who became a manifestation of sri

parthasarathy, magizh-mARan as per the promise of nambi is indeed but

nambi and of course it is well known that sri emperumAnAr is -mARan

adi paNindhu vindhavan .

 

nam-pAduvAn: The rich cultural heritage including nam-pAduvan,kaisika

purANam are few more feathers in the crown of nambi.

 

nature: The nature's beauty cannot be described or narrated. The whole

area around thirukkuRungudi would be scorching with heat. Reach

thirukkuRungudi, the clouds would be hanging low and playing with

each other. A closer scrutiny of"thavaLa iLam piRai" and "akkum

puliyin" thiru-mozhi-s,9-5 and 9-6, respectively, throughout will

reveal this fact more distinctly.

 

thirumangai mannan's eternal abode: Like AndAL who wanted Herself

packed off to Lord krishNA- madhuraip purathu ennai vuithidumin,

yamunaikk karaikkennai vuithidumin, pANdi vadathennai vuithidumin and

so on, thirumangai AzhwAr who is supposed to have relished and

cherished all the divya-dEsam-s longs for thirukkuRungudi and desires

for this.

 

Thiru-mozhi 9-5 is replete with his pleas.

 

'kOla maNi nEr kozhikkum,. kuRungudikkEa ennai vuithidumin"

'kollai vaLar ilai mullai, pulgu kuRungudikkEa ennai vuithidumin'

and so on and so forth.

 

The final pAsuram is heart rending.

 

"thiru-mA-magaLaip peRRum en nenjam kOil koNda" Even after having

thiru-mA-magaL the great patta magishi, the Lord of thirukkuRungudi

resides in my heart.

and ultimately kaliyan reaches thirukkuRungudi as his eternal abode.

 

thirukkuRungudi better than vaikuntham: NO Exaggeration. Edu vyAkyAnam for the 11th pAsuram of 5-5 :

aRiyak kaRRu vallArgaL : 'aRindhu kaRkaiyAvadhu" sRi vaikuNdathilEA

nithya sUrigaL naduvEa irukkiRa iruppilum kAttil,guNAdhikyam vuLLadhu

ennumidathia aRindhu abhyasikka vallargaL'

 

" What is learning about thirukkuRungudi properly?: To realise that

being in thirukkuRungudi is better than being in srEvaikuNtam in the

company of nithya-sUri-s as the auspicious qualities sparkle in

thirukkuRungudi.

 

guNAdhikyam-saulabhyAdhigaL -arumpadhavurai.

 

Conclusion: One can go on like this talking about nambi of

thirukkuRungudi. Smt. SumithrA varadaRajan triggered these thoughts

in my mind when she talked of divya-dEsam-s as offices of the Lord.

Further, there was a feeling that many people do not know much about

this divya-dEsam. Hence, this gave me an opportunity to run through

the great vyAkyAnam-s about the great divya-dEsam and about the great

vadivazhagia nambi.
