Guest guest Posted August 26, 2004 Report Share Posted August 26, 2004 Great Walls nan-pon-yEaindha-vAnai vundhu-veLLi yEaindha-araNamaindha-maNi pon yEaindha-kallil yEaindha madhiL THE SEVEN GREAT WALLS It is pertinent to note that the 'madhiL' of thiru-k-kaNNapuram has attracted sri kulasEkarAzhwAr who has mentioned in the very first pAsuram "mannu pugazh....kanni nan-mA-madhiL puDai sUzh" 8-1 and completed with the same in the final pAsuram "kanni nan-mA-madhiL puDai sUzh" in his perumAL thiru-mozhi. periya vAchan piLLai: 'azhivu illAdha periya madhiLAlEa sUzhapp patta, thiruk-kaNNa-puram' Our elders have mentioned seven walls for thirukkaNNapuram. These seven walls are mentioned in 7 out of 11 pAsuram-s in the mAlai nanni thiru voi mozhi 9-10; The first Wall: vEalai mOdhum madhiL - last message. The second wall:veLLi yEaindha madhiL- The wall made of silver or the wall akin to a silver wall. The third wall: 'vAnai vundhu madhiL sUzh" 9-10-4; The wall which is high-it is so high that it is mentined that it touches the sky. The fourth wall: 'araN amaindha madhiL'9-10-5; The Lord has no security problems in parama-padham; Here, this madhiL eases the concern of AzhwAr. The fifth wall:'nan-pon-yEaindha-madhiL'9-10-6; The golden wall or the wall like gold. The sixth wall:'maNi pon-yEaindha madhiL'9-10-8; The wall embedeed with gems and stones. The seventh wall:'kallil yEaindha madhiL' 9-10-10; The grand stone wall.
