One need not wax eloquent on this point. sri thoNdaradippodi AzhwAr in thirumAlai 11. "..maruviya periya kOIl, madhiL thiruvarangam.." When one observes the softness and gentle nature of periya perumAL, the feeling " Such a gentle and soft periya perumAL. Hope, He is safe over there" . The Great Wall appeases this feeling and gives one a feeling of comfort. sri periya vAchAn piLLai" kaN vaLarndharuLugiRavarudaiya saukumAryathaik kaNdu anjavEaNdAdhapadi madhiLai vudaithAyirukkai.ivvasthuvin sErmaiyai aRindhirukkum thirumangai AzhwAr itta madhiLiREA" Realsing the value of the Lord inside, sri thirumangai AzhwAr constructed this Great wall.
