Guest guest
THE INNOCENT BEETLES The AshOkA flower blossoms afresh daily and is bright as a fire. The beetle initally views it and thinks " fire! fire !" beware. A closer scruitiny however, reveals that the freshness of the flower added with its beauty and brightness makes it appear as a fire. The beetle realises that " oh! this is in fact flower and not fire" The next day again the beetle views the flower and again fears that it is fire and later realises that it is in fact ashOkA flower's beauty. Where does this event occur? In the thirupparidhi dhivya-dhEsam. The exprience of innocent beetle is thus narrated in the ninth pAsuram of periya-thiru-mozhi of the first ten by none other than sri kaliyan. " ..thAdhu malgi piNdi viNdalarginRa, thayal purai ezhil nOkki, bhEadhai vaNdugaL eriyane veru-veru, piridhi..." 1-2-9; Excellent narration of the natural beauty. vanamamalai padmanabhan
