Sri RanganAtha Temple Priest Quarters Construction project Progress report

Sri RanganAyaki SamEtha Sri RanganAthan's ArchakAs

are maintaining the rich traditions of the temple and

are performing daily , seasonal and special Uthsavams with

strict adherence to Paancha Raathra Aagamam . Every day ,

they have Veda Vij~nApanam ( recitation of Yajur Vedam )

and AzhwAr's dhivya Prabhandhams . Nithya (Daily )

Daily AarAdhanam is conducted at all the 8 Sannidhis for

lOka KshEmam .

 

It is the tradition in many US HIndu Temples to provide

living quarters for the ArchakAs . Here at Sri RanganAtha Temple ,

we had to defer it due to other pressing priorities in managing

the available funds .

 

Time has come now to address the critical needs of the priests

to have quarters outside the temple . Currently , they are in

cramped rooms ( two to a room ) inside the temple . Their

families are in India since we could not invite them under

these circumstances .

 

The Board of the Temple has authorized a special fund raising effort

to raise the needed funds ($150K ) to construct two priest quarters

right next to the Temple in 2005 .

 

1500 Individual Raffle tickets valued at $ 100 each have been

approved by the NY State to raise the needed funds .

 

AasthikAs have helped with the purchase of 300 Tickets

sofar . The Temple has a long way to go to reach its goal

before the deadline of December 31 , 2004 . Please help

by purchasing as many tickets as you can and give

your valued support for this important project .

 

Although it is odd for a temple to use the Raffle route ,

few sponsors have donated the following three prizes

and we are obliged to distribute them to the three winners

once we reach the completion stage of fund raising . The three

prizes are : (1) BMW 2005 Model car as First Prize (2) A Board

Member has donated the family's timeshare apartment

in Virginia Beach , VA for one week per year for life and

(3) Two Round trip tickets to India in 2005 to visit

dhivya dEsams .

 

The tickets can be purchased from anywhere in the world .

During the Next round , the Temple will consider prizes

that will permit winners to stay at one or more dhivya dEsams

like Srirangam , Thirumala , Ahobilam and others for

a week or two . Please help with the purchase of

the raffle tickets to initiate the construction of

the two priests' quarters in 2005 . We have only

three months left to assemble the needed funds

with your support .

 

The Board is considering the naming of the first two of

the Priest Quarters as Sri RanganAtha Bhavanam and

Sri VenkatEsa Bhavanam . The remaining two quarters

to be built in the year 2006 will be named Narasimha

Bhavanam and Raama KrishNa Bhavanam respectively .
