Guest guest
mAnidam kavi pAdal? ...pallavan kOne paNindha paramEsura viNNagaram. swAmi nam AzhwAr has proscribed singing in praise of mortals and has prescribed talking high of the Lord and Him alone. This being so, is it not surprising to observe that kaliyan has praised pallavA king who has done service to the Lord of paramEsura viNNagaram or sri vaikuntha nAdhar kOil at kAnchi. There are so many kings who come up and vanish. However, only a few are blessed to be of service to sriman nArayaNA. Keeping this in mind, thirumangai mannan has sung in praise of pallavA king, who has done service-kainkaryam to this Lord. That is why, in each and every pAsuram of the ninth ten of thriumozhi in the second ten, AzhwAr repeats the term ".. pallavar kOne paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'. ".pAr mannu pallavar kOne paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'2-9-2; ".seruvil muna nAL parandhavan pallavar kOne paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'2-9-3; "padaith thiRal pallavar kOne paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'2-9-8; "pAmbudaip pallavar kOne paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'2-9-5; ".pala padai sAya venRAn paNindha, paramEsura viNNagarm'.2-9-7 sri periya vAchan piLLai summarises this in a single sentence: "inith thAn bhagavath vishayathil Oradi vara ninRar, thamakku vuthEsyamAgviREa ivar ninaithiruppadhu' Further, this is also in commensurate with the srEvaishNavite principle of talking high of His devotees. Is it not? ...pallavan kOne paNindha paramEsura viNNagaram adhuvEa vanamamalai padmanabhan
