Guest guest
Sri: Dear BhakthAs : I am enclosing a note from Sri man V.Seshadri of T.Nagar , whose family hails from the famous village of Kurucchi , which is near Raaja MannArgudi . This village near a tribituary of River Cauveri is an ancient center of Sri VaishNavaas , who were experts in Tarkam , VyAkaraNam , Vedam , Dhivya Prabahndham , Sri BhAshyam and other Sri Sookthis . Similar agrahAram is at Naaval Paakkam , where even today the Veda Paramparai flourishes . In this utthama agrahAram of Kurucchi was a flourishing temple for Sri PerumdEvi ThAyAr SamEtha Sri Abheeshta VaradarAjan , whose moolava moorthy you can enjoy at the bottom of this note . After the Vedic scholars left such villages to the cities , these villages and their temples were neglected due to lack of archakAs , resident Scholars and funds . Kurucchi is no exception to these trends . Today , number of descendants of Kurucchi scholars have rasied approximately 2 Laks of Rupees between themselves and have performed BalAlayam . They would like to complete a modest Sannidhi to begin with to complete the Prathishtai . Sriman Venkat Seshadri of T.Nagar , Chennai is looking to identify like minded aasthikAs to help inn the reconstruction of this sannidhi at Kurucchi . Please contact him and support his welcome efforts . His telephone number at chennai is: 2-814-4769 . He is at 14 Ashok Arpudha (new No.186) , Habibulla Road , Chennai 17 . Thanks for your attention , V.Sadagopan **************************************************************** > the known history is only about > Kurichi Seshachar Swami Sri Karyam Sri Ahobila Math > under the 38th Azhagiyasingar. Guest guest
Dear Bhakthas- This is further to the kind introduction of Sriman U.Ve.Sadagopan Swami. Appended are a few details of the temple. The temple houses the Divya Mangala Vigrahams of Perundevi Thayar and Sri Abheeshta Varadaraja Perumal and Ubhaya Nachimars. It atleast atleast 600 years since the Avatharam of Perumal in this place. Per Aroodam experts, worship at the kshetram rids one of Pithru dosham and needless to add, confers all prosperity on the devout. Adiyen could not earlier have the good fortune of visiting Kurichi since I was in Mumbai . Thanks to a wonderful dream in which the Lord's sevai was obtained, I felt an indescribable urge to leave for Kurichi. The temple was crumbling and Iwas about just in time to provide the wooden barricades on the beams above the Lord's Divya Managala Vigrahams to prevent any injury. The last Sri Vaishnava left the place about 5 years back at a ripe age of 87 no longer being able to continue on his own and post which the temle was infested with snakes, bats and insects. By the Lord's grace none of these harmed me and within a short time, we were able to arrange for the Balalayam and an Aradhakar. Difficult as it was to locate an aradhakar swami who will settle in such a remote village it was the arrangement of the all -compassionate Lord who had himself arranged for an aradhakar (thro a dream again wherein one of my relatives known to the aradhakar swami was also revealed and thro him the contact of the aradhakar swami was obtained). This gave us the courage to go ahead and build the temple since otherwise, there was no point in building a temple without ensuring continuity especially in a highly remote village. You will be pleased to note that post regular aradhanam, what was once a desert for over 80 acres has now become a lush agricultural land with all 4 lakes brimming with clear water and in the two rivers that flow by. Please see the photographs of the Lord attached. Some of the Uthsava divya Mangala Vigrahams (Thayar, Swami Nammalwar, Bhagavad Ramanuja and Swami Desikan)are housed in a temple in Mannrgudi belonging to another Vedic faith and can be retrived only after the new temple is constructed and adequate security is available. Should you like to contribute to the noble cause of temple contruction and equally importantly to be able to look after the maintenance of the daily Aradhana, please send your contribution per the following details: Beneficiary name: SRI KAINKARYA TRUST Bank ; ICICI Bank, Nungambakkam Account No: 000901112811 Address ; 25 Brahmin Street, Saidapet, Chennai 600015 of Trust For those abroad, please arrange for a local Rupee draft to be provided since foreign currency cannot be accepted into the account as yet.ICICI has such a local transfer facility as well.
