In the East coast of US (MA, Maine, CT, NY, NJ, Washington D.C etc) the eclipse occurs (is visible) from 20.05 Hrs on Oct 27, 2004 to 2.02 AM on Oct 28, 2004. The eclipse in totality occurs from 22.23 Hrs to 23.45 Hrs. The puNya kalam starts, after the moon begins to recover, which can be after 23.45 Hrs on Oct 27.
