Guest guest
Dear All, Out of 108 Divya Desams, 3 are considered to be very important in our sampradAyam. They are Koil, Thirumalai and PerumAl Koil. One interesting and common trend in all these three Divya Desams is the kaimkaryams done by great BhaktAs and the great souls who followed each one of them. This has been told by NayanAr in his AchArya Hridayam as: 'Pushpa, ThyAGA, BhOga Mandapangalil Panippoovum, Alavattamum, Veenaiyam KaiyumAna Antharangarai Mudi Mannavarum, VaidigOttamarum, MahAmuniyum anuvartita kramam' Thirumalai is known as Pushpa mandapam. KAnchi is known as ThyAga mandapam and Srirangam is known as BhOga mandapam. Following is the order of the Divya Desams, the BhaktAs who performed kaimkaryam and the great souls who followed each of them. Mandapam Kaimkaryam by Kaimkaryam Follower Pushpa Kurumbarutha Nambi Pushpa Kaimkaryam ThondamAn King Thyaga Thirukkachi Nambigal ThiruAlavattam Swami RAmAnujar BhOga ThiruppAnAzhwar Singing LokaSAranga muni There is one common feature among the people who did kaimkaryam and the people who followed them. The people who followed the BhaktAs were born in either Kshtria kulam or Brahmin kulam, where as the people who performed kaimkaryams were born in so called lower class of the society. People who followed the BhaktAs exactly followed NammAzhwar's pasuram in the NedumArku adimai seydhu pathikam of ThiruvAymozhi. There is an interesting aspect about why these Divya Desams are called like this and what is the reason for the king and two Brahmins to follow those great BhaktAs. aDiyEn plans to write about these aspects based on what aDiyEn has heard from upanyAsams from present day scholars in our sampradAyam. Any mistake committed here is purely aDiyEn's and not anyone else's. You all are most welcome to correct and suggest changes. aDiyEn, ramanan vote. - Register online to vote today!
