Guest guest
SRI: Dear Sriman Aravind : You wanted to know the Sanskrit equivalent of Thiruneermalai ThAyAr's name in Tamil : " aNi maa malar Mangai ". First , we should understand the meanings of the FOUR words joining together as a Naamaa for our Mother at Thiruneermalai. These FOUR words are : aNi+ maa+malar +Mangai There are 20 Paasurams of two AzhwArs on Thiruneermalai including one from BhUthatthAzhwAr ; the others are from Thirumangai Mannan , where you come across these words. aNi = azhagiya , beautiful maa= big or Lakshmi malar= flower , here the lotus flower mangai = maiden /kumaari , who has just crossed the stage of yuvathy . aNi maamalar mangai literally means the beautiful lady associated with the big lotus flower , who is none other than Sri Devi, the dharma pathni of the Lord . adiyen will translate therefore "aNImaamalar Mangai " as SUNDARA PANKAJA VALLI . She is seated in front of Her Husband on a throne of mighty lotus (maamalar ) according to Swamy Desikan's SrI Sthuthi: " agrE bharthu: sarasijamayE bhadrapeeDE nishaNNAm " May this " Sakala Buvana PrarTanA KaamdhEnu " worshipped at Thiruneermalai as " aNi maamalar Mangai" bless us all during this dheepAvaLi season ! NarAyaNa , NaarAyaNa , NaarAyaNa ! Oppiliappan KOil V.Sadagopan - Sethuraman, Aravind (S.)
