Guest guest
mAmunikaL's Open mind contd. It was seen that while listing the commentaries for thiru-voi-mozhi sri maNavALa mAmunikaL added pannErAyirappadi vyAkyAnam though this did not strictly fall within the parameters of "munnOar mozhindha". It was also seen that as there were no major devitations and by and large it was all right he also mentioned "yEadhamil" pannErAyiram. When there are several vyAkyAnam-s, how does one approach these? Well, those who have come in our tradition know well, which vyAkyAnam toes the lines of our tradition, predecessors and sAsthrAs. An unbiased view, thus has to be taken while going through the vyAkyAnam-s and then come to a conclusion rather than, spurn them without reading those. That is what is the open mindedness is all about. The great work srEvachana bhUshaNam is very difficult to understand and more so to follow. There can be more vyAkyAnam-s. Those who come in the lineage of our traditions can study all the vyAkyanam-s . But let them do so in a netural and unbiased manner. This is the appeal by swAmi maNavALa mAmunikaL in the upadhEsa rethinamAlai pAsuram 'sachampiradhAyam thAm vudayOar kEattakkAl, mecchum vyAkyaigaL vuNdAgil, nachi adhigariyum nEr, vachana bUdathaNathuk kaRRa madhiyudaiyEr, madhiyatharAi" 58; In view of the fact that he himself has been a commenator for srEvachana bhUshaNam, this pAsuram reiterates his open mindedness . to be contined vanamamalai padmanabhan
