Guest guest
Service to Ones AchAryA. Service to ones AchAryA is the ultimate prescription by sri maNavALa mAmunikaL. pinpazhagarAm perumAL jEyar was always with sri nam-piLLai and performed blemishless service to him. He considered swAmi nam-piLLai's divine feet as the ultimate refuge. He did not want to go to paramapadham, as he still desired to do kainkaryam, taking care of sri nam-piLLai. He wanted to be with sri nampiLLai without being separated from him. When a person is taught a subject or described a subject, suitable examples are given. Appropriate role model is pointed at, not for just better understanding but also for following. Even in legal parlance, judicial precedence is a recognised and acknowledged reference. These aspects are brought out in the 65th and 66th pAsuram. As spelt out in the srEvachana bhUshaNam, disciples have to take care of the physique of the AchAryan. Despite this fact, sri periya jEyar mentions it is very difficult to see anybody following this meticulously. Having said so, in the next pAsuram, he refers a role model. When one gives a role model, the model has to be perfect, for others to follow. That is how, sri pinpazhagarAm perumAL jEyar is brought out in the 66th pAsuram, hihglighting the fact that he preferred service to sri nampiLLai to paramapadham. "pinpazhagarAm perumAL jEyar, perumthivathil anbadhuvumaRRu mikka AsaiyinAl, nampiLLaikkAna adimai sei annilaiyai nan nenjEA , vUnamaRa eppzohudhum Or" In this, thirunakshathram of sri maNavALa mAmunikaL, these were some thoughts about the great saint: sri maNavALa mAmunikaL rAmAnuja dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
