Guest guest
The Easy Way Out It can be observed from purANAs that penance has been a way of getting ones wishes and desires. dhurvA, hiranyan are one of the examples. However, is it fail proof and fool proof? Apart from the fact, that one has to torment oneself, unless performed blemishlessly, the fruits of the efforts will not fructify. Without eating anything, doing peance amidst five fires-panchAgni- four fires in four sides and one above in the sky- eating just fruits/vegetables and air and trying to achieve the desired end, is one way. Not a fool proof one. There is other way. Think of the Lord Almighty. Put Him dear to your hearts. Keep Him in your thoughts. He who is the Lord of pirAtt, will easily grant your wishes-salvation. This is the simple prescription from thirumangai mannan, in the second thirumozhi of third ten "vUN vAda vuNNAdhu, vuyir kAvalittu, vudalil piriyA pulan aindhum nondhu, thAm vAda, vAda, thavam seiyya vEANda. "3-2-1; "kAyOdu nEdu kaNi vuNdu, vEsu kadum kAl nugarndhu..aindhu thEyOdu.. vEANda" 3-2-2; The above are not necessary. What should be done. This is given as the final punch line of each pAsuram "thillai thiruchithrakUtam senRu sEArminEa" "thirumAl thirumangaiOdAdu thillai thiruchithrakUtam senRu sEArminEa" dhEvAdhi dhEvan thigazhginRa thiruchithrakUtam senRu sEArmngaLEA" He is in thiruchithraKutam-chidambaram.Surrender at His feet, is the Easy way out signalled by parakAlan (to be continued) vanamamalai padmanabhan
