Nanjeeyar ased Bhattar "Why does it have to be the cloth around His waist? Will not the cloth around his shoulders do?" Bhattar replied "Andal is looking for the smell of Lord Krishna's sweat in His dress, to reduce Her misery. This smell will be limited on the cloth around His shoulders. Whereas, the cloth around His waist would have captured it greatly. This is why she is singing 'araiyil pIthaga vaNNa Adai koNdu'."
