Guest guest
Whose Look out is it, Anyway? en-nilamai vuraiyAyEa AzhwAr's rejoicement over the Lord ofthiru-vAli settling in his mind developed into cumulatvie expectaions of the Lord granting the opportunity to serve Him. However, this did not fructify and AzhwAr was again thrown into agony of separation and commences in feminine accent. She starts sending emissaries in the form of beetles and birds. This is a unique situation . Well, swAmi nam-AzhwAr had also sent emissaries. All these thiru-voi-mozhi-s are full of sending messages through these winged ambasadors. The uniqueness here is that, the first four pAsuram is about sending such information to the Lord and the rest AzhwAr talks herself. Whenver a person is sick, a person is sent to bring the doctor. Nobody just goes to the doctor and say that "such and such person is sick in this place". The doctor is informed the address, requested for a vist and in several cases is brought along to cure the patient. However, AzhwAr who is suffering from pangs of separation, asks the emissaries just to inform Him -the Lord of thiru-vAli. Now, it is His decision to come or not to come. It is His role to reclaim and rescue the souls. Therefore, ]it is enough if you just mention my positon ' is AzhwAr's stance. Why is this so? That is because, the souls are the assets of the Lord and it is His grace and taks to reclaim them. This is seen clearly from sri periya-vAchAn piLLai's vyAkyAnam "thUviriya malar vuzhakki, thuNaiyOdum piriyAdhEa, pU viriya madhu nugarum porivariya siRu vaNdEa, thE-viriya maRai vaLarkkum pugazhAlar thiru-vAli, yE-vari ven-silaiyAnukku, en-nilamai vuraiyAyEA" 3-6-1; parakAla nAyaki requests the beetles to fly across to thiru-vAli and inform the Lord of her state of affaris. vuraiyAyEa--> "kodu vara vEandA, aRivikkum athanai iREa ithalikku vEaNduvadhu;varugai avan paNi iREa; vArAdhozhiumanRu rakshaganukku kuRaiyAmEa; nEngaL aRivitha ananthram kEattu thAnEa vArA niRkum" "oh! beetles, you need not bring him alongwith you, back here. It is just enough to inform Him. It is His duty and look out to come and rescue. If he does not turn up, it is a deficiency in the act of rescue. He will definitely come on information" en-nilamai vuraiyAyEa It is His Look-out.
