Guest guest
Dear All : 'aarenak kinRu nikarchollin maayanan Raivartheyvath thEriniR cheppiya geethaiyin chemmaip poruLtheriyap paariniR chonna iraamaa Nnuchanaip paNiyumnNallOr cheeriniR chenRu paNinthathu,en Nnaaviyum chinthaiyumE' Krishna was the GeethAcharyan in the battle field for Arjuna. The entire text cannot be easily comprehended by ordinary souls on this earth. Perumal who preached Geetha wanted to propogate it too in easier way. This was a very good reason for Him to come to this world of samsara. We all know that Thirukkurungudi Nambi was born as Nammazhwar. Similar to his parents, Kesava Sommayyaji and Gandhimathi ammaiyar prayed to the Perumal in Thiruvallikkeni for putra baghyam. GeethAcharyan Himself was born as Swami Ramanujar. Swami Ramanujar easily propogated the meanings in Geeta through His bashyam. This Perumal is the one who stands with two shoulders in a beautiful urban Divya Desam called Thiruvallikkeni. There was a king called Sumati. He wanted to worship ThiruVenkadamudayan as GeethAcharyan. He prayed for that kind of darshan. Perumal has already told in Geetha that which ever way a bhakta wants to worship, He will be in that form. He was so kind enough to come and stay as GitAcharyan in BrindAranya Kshetram (Tulasi vanam). Since He came from ThiruVenkadam, He is known as Venkata Krishnan. The Divya Desam houses 4 Perumals other than Venkata Krishnan, MannAthan – Sayana Thirukkolam Raman Gajendra Varadan Thelliya Singam (Narasimha Perumal) Each Perumal came here by the request of different rishis. The Divya Desam is still known by the name of the pushkarani, Kairavini (Thiruvallikkeni). It is the mixture of 5 waters. Indra Theetham, Soma Theertham, Meena Theertham, Agni Theertham, Vishnu Theertham. Unlike most of the other Divya Desam Perumals, Venkata Krishnan stands in Garbagruham along with His consort Rukmini, his family members Aniruddhan, Pradyumnan, Balaraman and Satyaki. Perumal holds Shangu in one hand and other hand points towards His feet. For all of us, who find it very difficult to learn Geetha, the very darshan of Venkata Krishnan will be more than enough. The entire Garbhagruham is the chariot. Krishnan Himself is Geetha. He explains with His posture. The shangu in His right hand shows the beginning of Geetha. It starts with, ‘pAncajanyam RishikEsha: dEvadattam dhananjaya..’ The left hand points to the carama slokam in the eighteenth chapter, sloka 66, ‘sarva dharmAn parityajya…..mOkshyishyAmi mA shuca:’ The entire Geetha is in between the two hands. Venkata Krishnan has so much of sousheelyam to grant this kind of darshan to us. MannAthan is the first Perumal to come to this Divya Desam. Vedavalli Thayar is the Thanikkovil Nachiyar of this Divya Desam. She was born as the daughter of a rishi, and got married to MannAthan. There is some special and unique beauty attached to our Parthasarathy (utsavar) in this Divya Desam. We will enjoy that, followed by Azhwars’ anubhavams in the next few postings. aDiyEn, ramanan The all-new My – Get yours free!
