Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara munayE Namaha Sri vAnAchala mahA munayE Namaha Paasuram-30 “avan ennai Ali arangaththu arangil avan ennai eidhAmal kAppAn- avan ennadhu vullaththu nindrAn erundhAn kidakkumE vellaththu aravaNaiyin mEl.” If emperuman is vugappuruvan, olivuruvan and magappuruvan as told by you in the previous paasuram Oh! Azhveer how did you see him? Azhvar answers, “What is so difficult when emperuman himself left his thirupArkadal and came to reside in my heart in order to uplift and save adiyen” (arangaththu avan ennai Ali) Making everyone realize that he is none other than Ramapiran, that very lord who took me under his control resides in Srirangam. He came to srirangam for the very purpose of mesmerizing me with his beauty and to protect me. What did he do lying down in Srirangam? (arangil avan ennai eidhAmal kAppAn) He stays in arangam and prevents me from falling into the stage of samsAram (life is itself a stage drama). Nammazhvar reflects the same idea in his words, “piravi mAmAyaththu kooththu” [thiruvai 8-4-11]. An actor takes different roles in different dramas and performs on the stage similarly the same athma takes different bodies and enters the world of samsAra. Till now azhvar talked about the hardships undergone by emperuman in order to obtain azhvar furthur azhvar talks about the results obtained. (avan ennadhu vullaththu nindran erundhAn) Emperuman stands and resides in different divya desams like Srirangam and thirumalai for the sole purpose of entering into the heart of azhvar and hence now emperuman has attained his goal. “rakshApEshAm pratheekshathE” as per the verse emperuman waits for the acceptance of the jeevas to protect them. When he even gets a small chance emperuman jumps to avail the opportunity and enters the hearts of the bhaktha and stands, sits, resides and enjoys himself inside the bhaktha’s heart. (kidakkumE vellatharavanaiyin mEl) Why should he reside on top of the adisesha anymore? After achieving the result why should anyone continue to undergo all the hardships (sadhanAnushtAnams)? Here residing on adisesha implies the existence of emperuman in pAramapadam, ksheerApthi and all the divya desams. After coming to the heart of azhvar all these places have been shed by emperuman. In thiruchandhaviruththam (65), thirumazhisai azhvar himself declares, “nirpadhum Or verpagaththu vinkidappadhum narporul thiruakkadalul nAnilAdha munnelAm arpudan ananthasayanan Adhibhoothan mAdhavan nirpadhum eruppadhum kidappadhum en nenjulE” Nammazhvar reflects the same in periya thiruvandhAdhi-60 as, “kallum kanaikadalum vaikunda vanadium pullendrozhindhana kol A- pAvam!-vella nediyAn nirankariyAn vul pugundhu neengAn adiyEnadhullaththu agam” Emperuman who resides in paramapadam, ksheerAbhthi and divya desams only as a sAdhanAnushtAnam to obtain a jeevatma and after attaining the results, “panikkadalil paLLikOlai pazhagavittu Odivandhu en manakkadalil vAzhavalla mAyamaNaLanambi” [periyAzhvar thirumozhi 5-4-9] If the jeevatma then prays to the lord, “vellaththu elankOil kaividEl” then the lord for the sake of the jeevatma to fulfill their wish stays there also. ElankOil (bAla Alayam) ksheerAbhthi and other places are only small temples, temporary places for emperuman to stay until the correction of the jeevatmas and getting them to his path. After that emperuman prefers to stay only in the big temple, the heart of the bhakthas. But if the bhakthas pray to him to stay in the small temple also he gives respect to the words and hence due to force stays there also.
