Guest guest
Mark on/of the Lord Fifth pAsuram mAyanai mannu dhAmODharan: ARAyirappaDi. nanjEyar: "paNaigaLilEa thAvinavAREA vudai nazhuva, thazhumbaik kaNdu idaichigaL sirithArgaL; athazhumbu thOnRAmaikkiREA nam-perumAL kaNaiyam mEal sAthu sAthugiRadhu" When Lord krishNA jumps from one branch of the tree to another, his dress slides and the indelible mark which had appeared on His waist when yasOdhA pirAtti had tied Him by the rope to the 'vural' appears openly and the gOpikAs laugh at Him. Hence, even today mEal vEAshti is donned around nam-perumAL's waist to hide this mark. ErAyirappaDi: sri bhattar "shEshiyinudaiya thiru-ilachinai " enRu bhattar aruLich seivar. The mark given by the devotees is happily donned by the Lord. The symbol of saulabyam is the mark on the Lord ( the mark on the waist made by the samll rope tied by yasODA pirAtti) displaying His immense love and affection towards the devotees.
