Guest guest
SrI: >From time to time , adiyEn picks some universal messages from Scholars and AchAryAs for general sharing . HH Sri RangapriyA MahA Desikan is a great AchAryan whose anugraha BhAshaNams have rare insights . adiyEn is sharing the New Year's message extolling the importance of Sri VishNu Shasra Naamam recitation by us. NamO NaarAyaNAya , V.Sadagopan On New Year's Eve there was a different kind of celebration at the Mandiram. Swamiji after the evening Pooja spoke briefly again continuing his reflections on the Sri Vishnu Sahasranama. He said that it was a garland of choicest flowers lovingly strung together by that master mAlAkAra Sri VedaVyasa. When we recite it we are offering the Lord the Greatest Garland. It is also a Yagna, which is alpAyAsa but bahu- phala. He said we should recite it in that spirit with love reverence and joy once every day or if that is not possible once a week.In that case Saturday is praSasta. It is also a universal panacea. It gives every purushartha you can ask for.Swamiji chose one item out of the phalasruti- "rOgArto muchyatE rOgAt" and spoke about it.When you employ physical medicine it does cure the vyAdhi. So why go in for other efforts like mantras ? But when we take the medicine we also have the practice of reciting the sloka "SarIrE jarjaribhUtE...vaidyo NArAyaNO Harih" What is the need for this Sloka ? If the medicine is good it will cure the rOga,if not it won't- irrespective of this sloka! So why recite it ? Swamiji explained- Every disease has three strata- Adhibhoutika, Adhidaivika and AdhyAtmika. When you take the mediine you're dealing only with the Adhibhoutika portion. The other two remain untouched ready for future extension. It is only when you ask for the help of the Adi-Vaidya,Sriman NArAyaNa who is the source of both the rOga and the rOgi that you really tackle the disease as you should. He concluded by saying that, whether you know it or not He is always in touch with you.You too have to be in touch with Him -and that is through this medium. When the mutual contact is established there is Peace and Joy.
