Guest guest
Dear srEvaishNavites, QUID PRO QUO PHALA-SRUTHI It is common to observe AzhwAr-s giving a benefit as a dole or an incentive at the conclusion of each pAsuram. For so many years, the debate on the purpose for such an incentive, whehter it strictly falls within the parameters of our philoshopical cult, are going on. Even recently, I read an article regarding negative incentive, - vaiyam sumappadhum vambu-from sri sadagopan iyengar swami. I hasten to add that, I am not venturing into any discussion of the pros and cons of such phala-sruthi-s of AzhwAr-s. It is perhaps suffice to say that these pala-sruthi-s, perhaps were the luring thred or the tempting trump card for those souls indulging in the mudane and materialistic world, day in and day out. When, adiyEAn was participating in the second day of adhayana utsava ghOshti and reciting the latter two hunderds of the periyAzhwAr thiru-mozhi in thiruvallikkEANi, my dear friend and ghOshti-mate thiruchERai nArAayNan, casually mentioned certain pAsuram-s concluding without any such incentive. When, we observed these with more attention, these pAsuram-s, stand alone just on this basis, apart from other things. I shall appease my thirst for these, by sharing some points on these pAsuram-s, Thank You, rAmAnuja dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
