Will they reach thiru-vAli or not?

It was seen earlier -kaLvan kol?-that the Lord of thiru-vAli had taken

parakAla nAyaki alongwith Him. The mother was looking aghast.

Now doubt and fear has arisen in the mind of thAyAr-mother of parkAla

nAyaki, whether they will reach thiru-vAli or get distracted enroute.

Here a comparison with thiru-k-kOLUr pAsuram of thiru-voi-mozhi is

drawn by our AchAryAs.(vunnum sORu 6-7)

There, sri nam-AzhwAr -parAnkusa nAyaki leaves for thirukkOLur, alone,

without anybody's escort or company. However, the mother determines

and is confident that she will definitely reach her destination.

These are very clear from the words "thiNNam en iLamAn pugum vUr

thiuru-k-kOLUrEA" thiru-voi-mozhi 6-7-1;(certainly my young girl will

reach thiru-k-kOLUr)

In contrast the mother of parkAla nAyaki expresses concern which is

clear from the words " aNi Ali puguvar kolO?" 3-7-1;

In the case of nam-AzhwAr, since AzhwAr goes alone, she is

undisturbed, without any distraction, single minded purpose,

undivided and unfettered goal and hence the confidence that she will

reach the divya-dEsam is attained by the mother.(though AzhwAr is not

in the company of Almighty)

Here on the contrary, since AzhwAr and perumAL are in the company of

each other, the fear psychosis arises. The fact that sEthA pirAtti

gets separated when they were in the exile also haunts the mind.

Moreover, each other may get involved in their beauty, thus

oblviating themselves the danger of the environment.

Thus though they both go together and parakAla nAyaki goes with the

company of the Lord Almighty, this lingering fear that they lose

their composure and complacence due to attraction of each other and

get distracted, is the premise for this alarm.

Therefore, this doubt is raised in each pAsuram 'aNi ali puguvar kolO!"

" aNi Ali puguvar kolO!"

(to be continued)
