Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara MunayE namaha Sri Vanachala mahA munayE namaha Srivaishnavas are parama sAtvikas. Swamy pillai lokacharya says “kuRRam seidhavar pakkalil poraiyum, krupaiyum, sirippum, vugappum, vupakAra smrithiyum nadakka vEnum” A Srivaishnava should never talk about the mistakes of anyone in front of emperuman or his devotees. Instead a Srivaishnava should forgive others mistakes, feel sorry for their ignorance, with a smile, happily accept the same with gratefulness, since the other person has helped him to understand his flaws. If such is the attitude of a Srivaishnava, will he ever have an enemy? Andal in the eleventh paasuram “kaRRu karavai” says, “seRRAr tiral azhiya”. Who are those termed as “seRRAr” Those who are not able to accept the greatness of krishna are enemies to bhagavatas. “shatrO: sagAsAth samprAptha” [one who has come from the enemy side] says angadan. Angadan’s father vAli accepted ravana as his friend but here angadan says ravana to be his enemy since ravana considers Sri Rama piran as an enemy. Similarly the gopis here consider kamsa and his mates to be their enemy since they are against krishna. Emperuman considers the enemies of bhagavatas to be his enemy [that is why he stood against the gauravas during the bhArata war] and the bhagavatas consider those who don’t accept the greatness of emperuman to be their enemy. “teeya pundhi kanjan” “sAdhusanaththai naliyum kanjan” kamsan had both the bad qualities. He had a hatred towards krishna and thereby illtreated all the sAdhus and hence Andal calls him as “seRRar”. So when it comes to defending our dear lord, azhvars, acharyas and our Sri sampradayam, we should not keep quiet. It is our prime duty to react. But whatever we do should be in the form of kainkaryam and with the thought that he is provoking us, showing us the way and using us as a tool to complete his mission of establishing dharma in this world in order to uplift all the jeevatmas from this world of samsara to his divine abode. If some one attacks our ego then we can forgive them and need not react (actually we should feel for them since emperuman will surely react if one does bhagavata apacharam) but we should never stand one doing bhagavat apacharam. Either we should try to correct them or atleast not stand in that place anymore (this depends our capacity to either change them or ignore them).
