Guest guest
samayam Having seen kaDavuL a very common term used rarely by our AzhwArs,. samayam is another common term but used in entirely a different context by both sri nam-AzhwAr and sri kaliyan. Generally, samayam refers to a time-period or a reliogion based faith. Here, it refers to transformation of objects. "yAvarum yavaiyum thAnAi avaravar samayam dhOrum thOvilan pulan aindhukkum..." thiru-voi-mozhi 3-4-10; The souls and objects undergo transformation. The Lord is pervading in all but does not get affected by the kArmic effects. It is a beauty to observe that sri thirumangai mannan also uses this term in the same context. "chandhamAi, samayam Agai samaya aim-bhUdham Agi.." periya thiru-mozhi 4-6-9; The chandhams of upanishads transform into meters/anushtups etc. The Lord is inner governor of these. Similarly, the pancha-bhUdham also undergo transformation while being created, sustained and destoryed. The Almighty is the inner governor of these.
