Guest guest
Fire in the Belly English is a funny language. Some idioms and phrases should not be taken literally. Fire in the belly indicates the preparedness of a person who can face challenges and is highly motivated to achieve with ambitions. Pulling up the socks does not talk of wearing shoes but raising up ones performance. Sri Sadagopan iyengar meant fire in the belly literally a form of fire -the digestive fire. There is another fire in the belly. The fire of fear. The fear of death raging as fire, threatening to finish off the life any moment. A ceaseless existence every moment living with death, expecting death with fear psychosis. This fire of fear is instilled in the stomach and who but the Lord Himself manifests so. kamsA who created endless fear into the devotees and well wishers of Lord krshNA ultimately was at the receiving end. All his accumulated pApam transformed and conveyed as fire of fear in his belly. He feared the Lord expecting Him any moment. kamsA's life became a continuing life of death. A life converted into bayAgni. The Lord who poured immense affection towards His devotees and loved ones sent waves and pangs of agony and fear -the fire of fear which emanated from his stomach. "dhEvaki mAr vayiRRil nEraich sorigiRvan kANum, kamsan vayiRRil neruppai soRigirAn" ARAyirappaDi. sri ANDAL exactly describes this astutely in the thiruppAvai 25 " ....kanjan vayiRRil neruppenna ninRa nedu-mAlEa" That is the fire in the belly neruppenna ninRa nedu-mAlEA dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
