The Fire of Separation.

 

A thing which has got potential to catch fire is highly inflammable.

These things have the characteristics to invoke fire. A matchstick,

crackers, petrol are a few to name.

 

A bed, a cool breeze or one's physique cannot be termed so,by any stretch of imagination.

 

AzhwAr has got a different opinion. The bed which normally bestows

soft comfort and benefits us with smooth sleep,is termed by AzhwAr as

a hot one.

 

The cool breeze which normally chills the body, is called as one which sprinkles fire on us.

 

The physique needs no heating source as it is boiling and there is no

support as even the cool moon is hot.

 

All these are due to separation from the Almighy. The Fire of

Separtion. The emotional outbursts of AzhwAr-s transform these cool

and soft elements into fiery ones and spit fire and heat.

 

Sri nam-AzhwAr-soft flowery bed scorches. "men- malar paLLi vem-paLLi AlOA!" thiru-voi-mozhi 9-9-4;

 

The cool breeze is now puffing high temperature wind.

 

" paNippiyalvAga vudaiya thaN vADAi, ikkAlam, ivvUr

paNippiyalvellAm thavirndhu eri vESum.." thiru-virutham 5;

 

There is no need for a separate source of heat as the organs of

parakAla nAyaki are burning and there is no support as the cool moon

is also boiling;

 

"..thUya mAmadhi kadhir suda, thuNai illai,

iNamulai vEAGinRadhAl..." periya thirumozhi 8-5-3;

 

 

The separation from the Almighty makes these otherwise benign elements

malginant ones.They commence dousing AzhwAr-s with fire, heat and

temperature.
