Guest guest
Fire In the Forest, Run-Run-Run Once when Sri krshNA and arjuna were playing, agni requested the Almighty for food. Sri krshNA directed agni to devour the forest -kANDA vanam/kANdAva vanam. This kANdA vanam was under the jurisdiction of indhiran and nobody was able to destroy this forest. as the agni was given powers from the Lord , indhiran was not able to do anything but witness the proceedings mutely. Sri krshNA wanted to vanquish the demons and He utilised agni appositely for this purpose. The fact that the forest which was under the reign of indhiran was consumed by flames in front of him is highlighted in the words "amararku araiyan adhu kaNDu niRka.." "kANDA vanam enbadhOAr kADu, amarakku arayan adhu kaNdu niRka, munEa, mUndAr, azhal vuNNa munindhadhuvum..." Periya Thirumozhi 2-4-2; The Lord's power of sustenance and destroyal through fire. The force behind the fire being our beloved is reiterated by sri thirumangai mannan "kANdavathai thE mUTTi vittAnai" 6-8-7 of periya thiru-mozhi. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
