thuthilAmaiyil atha ingozhindhu-pOdhuvAi pinnum nam-idaikkEA

 

Life Insurance Corporation of India introduced a policy termed as

"jEvan Anand" whereby the insured get the benefits both during his

lifetime (survival benefits) and is also assured of sum assured after

the death.

 

The double benefits is thus guaranteed under this policy.

 

It is generally presumed that when one desires to attain the Lord's

divine feet all other desires wither off. There are exceptions,

perhaps.

 

In case of Shri gOvindha-swAmy, a great learned devotee of

thiru-vENkatamudaiyAn, when he had the vision of the Almighty the

Lord pointed to him that some worldly desires are still lingering on

and He guaranteed salvation after he finishes off all such desires in

this world and then he can reach Him subsequently.(thOgai mA-mayil

This type of grant of having the desire fulfilled here and the desire

of attaining His lotus feet is indeed a double benefit which

thirumangai AzhwAr specifies

 

"mA-maga mAnilam muzhudhum vandhiRainjum malar-adi, kaNDa mA-maRaiyALan,

thOgai mA-mayil annavar inbam, thuthilAmayil atha ingozhindhu,

pOdhuvAi pinnum nam-idaikkEa enRA pEAr aruL.." 5-8-5;
