Guest guest
DOOMED To DESTINY TO ETERNAL BLISS It is said that the accumulated sins and effects are good deeds get converted iinto parameters of planetary positions and stellar forces on one's life which can be deciphered from horoscopes. The jyOthisha sAsthram advocates strongly that one's life is destined as per the pre-determined course. The set course of action is thus started off when the infant falls on the mother earth from the mother. The planetary actions then takes over the whole successive events occurring in one's life. The success and failures, the fame and notoreity, the zest and despair, the opulence and frugality all spring from this premise. The final release or the next destination perhaps is also being drawn up during the course of one's life keeping in view the corpus one carries firm one life to the other-from one body to the otther -muRai muRai Akkai pugal. Coming to think of it, who can change one's destiny? If these are 'cause and effect' equations, who can change? The parameter is already set. Who has got the access rights to tamper with this base, is the quesiton? These parameters are planets, stars, constellations and their effects. Who else, but whoever is the controller of these can only change this and who is that but Lord shirman nArAyaNA. Is there a precedent? Several. When one visits any dhivya-dEsam-s it is likely that one often hears from the archakar as "mArkaNdEya maharishikku prakthayksham" sri mArkaNdEya maharsihi was devotee of shivA and his longevity was destined to be sixteen. He was led to the Lord by shivA himself after he surrendered to the Almighty, the pre-determined parameter-vaitha nAL- was changed by none other than the Almighty. Did it stop at that? No. He became a great srEvaishNavite and obtained the great grace of service at the divine feet-eternally-enRum nin thriuvadi piryA vaNNam. That is why thirumangai AzhwAr aptly terms this as "Great Grace" --- 'pEAr aruL' "mannu nAn-maRai mA-muni peRRa maindhanai, madhiyAdha vem-kURRan thannai anji, nin charaN enach charaNAi, thagavil kAlanai vuga munindhozhiyA, pinnum enRum nin thiruvadi piriyA vaNNam-eNNiya pEAr aruL.." 5-8-6; First, the yama-bhayam was removed i.e Grace and later the permanent service at the Divine feet of the Lord was bestowed. From 'Doomed to Destiny to Eternal Bliss'. i.e. pEAr aruL dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
