Exactly two months from today, Wednesday June 8, 2005 is Prakrutham

Srirangam Srimath Andavan Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan's 71st

Thirunakshatram Mahotsavam (Sapthathi). Srimath Srimushnam Andavan

was born in "Vaikasi" Month on star "Thiruvadirai". Preparations are

well underway for a very grand celebration of the Sapthathi of

Srimath Andavan's Thirunakshatram at the PeriAshramam in Srirangam

where thousands of Sevarthis and vidwans will be participating in

various Grantha Paraanam, Veda Parayanams and Vidwat Sadas starting

on June 4th. Many of you might have seen postings in various

from Sri R. Rajagopal (Chairman, National Committee of

Srirangam Srimadh Andavan Ashramam) on the details of the grandest

celebrations being planned.

An AchAryan's Thirunakshtram is a very important day in a sishyA's

calendar. One should remember Swami Desikan's testimony that not even

our Lord Narayana can try to repay an Acharyan for all the upahAram He

does to his sishya. We as sishyas, can only join together and sing His

praise and spread our Acharya's glory. Last year Srimath Andavan's

sishyas and abhimanis living in USA had the great bhAgyam of

celebrating their Acharyas Thirunakshatram with other sishyas in

their vicinity, through the auspices of Sri Ramanuja Mission of

Srirangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam in 16 Cities in USA. The year

before it was conducted in 8 cities. In keeping up with the tradition

of doubling the celebrating locations, this year Sri Ramanuja Mission

hopes to organize the thirunakshatram in 32 different locations in

USA and outside India, during the weekend of June 11-12, 2005 for all

the sishyas of our illustrious Acharyan to celebrate this important

day.

We seek the sishyas and abhimanis of Srimath Andavan to come forward

to help with the hosting and organization of this event in their

vicinity (home/temple). All we need is for our Andavan's sishyas and

abhimanis living in the vicinity of each other to join hands and

celebrate our Acharyan's Thirunakshatram together. Please reply

plan for a grand celebrations in USA and other locations outside

India too.
