Guest guest
Dear Yamini Suresh : After I sent you the note on Sumangali PrArthanai , I came across the note on the subject posted by me five years ago . It talks about Pooja to Nithya Sumanglais and MahA Sumangails and those Sumangalis , who passed away and seeking their anugraham prior to an auspicious function . This is purely a loukeeka ceremony with no manthrams . MahA Lakshmi Pooja with MahA Lakshmi AshtOttharam and Sahasra Naamam can be doen by an elder Sumangali as a part of the Sumangali PrArTanA . I would suggest the recitation of SrI Sthuthi , Sri GuNa Rathna Kosam , which is a salutation by Swamy ParAsara Bhattar on Sri RanganAyaki ( Text and Meanings available at http://www.malolan.net) , SrI Sthavam by Swamy KurEsar ( www.sadagopan.org)and Swamy AlawanthAr's ChatusslOki . Those will enrich the occasion . Songs on MahA Lakshmi can also be added as a part of the occasion . It is afterall a prayer to the Most Merciful MahA Lakshmi , the Nithya and MahA Sumangali . V.Sadagopan Please refer to the section of the URL below on Sumangali PrArTanA : http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/oppiliappan/archives/2000/msg00160.html SrI Devyai Nama:
