Guest guest
Certain upanishads are said to be much older than the avatarams i.e after the matsya avatar which is considered first avatar. What is refferred to as a recital of prahalada is that Krishna, Vasudeva, Govinda and so on is one of the names of Lord Narayana. All the names of the protector are available from the creation. The names gained popularity as and when the avatars took place. Further We see the name of Goivinda. This became popular only after Thiruvengadamudayans darshan to devotees. Let us take the celebration of Deepavali. Jokes go around in southern part of India especially Tamil Nadu that how could Lord Rama celeberate Deepavali if it is celeberated after Naragasura Vatham which is said to have happened in Lord Krishnas period. Actually the fact is that Deepavali was the worship of Godess Lakshmi and after the destruction of Naragasura the festival gained more and additional importance. The evidences are found in Ramayana about Deepavali ( Reffered to as Diwali meaning festival of lights ) This is my interpretation and probably scholars like sadagopa swamy can enlighten us more with facts and quotes.
