Guest guest
Means and The End prApya-prApakam It was seen that the final pAsuram of thiruvoimozhi and the first of periya thirumozhi of Oppiliappan divya-dEsam talking of vulagaLandha perumAL. It is pertinent to observe that in the final thirumozhi pAsuram 6-1-10 thirumangai AzhwAr signs off with a grant that one and all will reach the divine feet of Sri vAmanan -vAmanan aDiyiNai maruvuvarEa. The EDu pravEsam for 'nalguravum selvum' thiruvoimozhi 6-3 categorically mentions that AzhwAr considers The Lord as the ultimate refuge. Usually we find that means to attain an end is different from the end. However, Here, to attain the Lord, the Almighty Himself is considered as the means. EDu " ini nATTil prApakam thAn prApyam Aga mATTadhu;prApyamAnadhu prApagam AgamATTAdhu; inganE irukka prApya prApagangaL iraNDum thAnEa AyirukkiRa padiyaiyum.." -- We observe in the World that, the means cannot be the end. The end cannot be the means. Being so, the Lord Oppiliappan is both, is being underlined by AzhwAr. Coming to Periya ThiruMozhi we see the same idea. Thirumangai Mannan looks upon the Lord's Grace to reach the Almighty. In fact this is observed by AzhwAr in each and every pAsuram --aruL enakku aruLudhiyEal. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
